Closest to British / Irish pub in Venice

Venice is not exactly known for its nightlife, and if you want to go out for a drink it's usually a restaurant where you end up. I was with a British man who wanted to have a normal pint in a place that felt normal or familiar and finally found this wee place which feels pretty much like an Irish... read more

I visited Devil's Forest 17 years ago in college. It was our go-to spot, and we were treated very well by the staff. I returned for my honeymoon, and found little changed. GiGi still greeted us with a smile. He offered recommendations on drinks, food (both at his place and others) and provided great conversation. The Devil's Forest is a... More

This place is rather cozy and easy going. Reasonably priced beers (3.5€ for a bottle of Moretti), AC, clean environment and friendly staff. Be aware that credit cards are not welcome, so bring some cash with you

Great atmosphere, good friendly service. We did not rat but the good looked very good and I heard good comments being spoken. I visited the venue because they served #Strongbow on draft.

Delicious food for a not so expensive price the only thing that I would warn you about is NO CREDIT CARDS allowed, but other than that it's perfect and nice

This pub is such a breath of fresh air for a Brit in Venice! The drinks are moderately priced and they offer a lot of very good cocktails. The food also looked very good. The interior is welcoming and much like a charismatic British pub. My friends and I had a great experience spending a few hours here with the... More

Good food, pasta with pesto was delicious. and beer, kilkenny and guinness where you can find. Prices of pastas were 10 euro, 0,5l beer was 7 euro.

My cousin and I were craving some food that wasn't pizza or pasta. We looked on trip advisor and liked the reviews this place got. Well, they didn't disappoint. Their food was great and their drinks were too! They even went out of their way to make me a salad that was supposed to only be on the lunch menu.... More

Welcoming pub in Venice. Great to have a cold beer and escape the heat outside. Seemed very busy with both locals and tourists. Not cheap though 6 Euros for a pint of lager. Prices varied though - we were charged a different price for the same round! Didn't eat here so can't comment on the food. Would visit again if... More

A nice place to get some aircondition and refreshments. Easy to find, and they have a few chairs for the once only looking for something to drink, which can be a struggle to find in Venice at peak tourist season.

Staying in San Marco

Neighborhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
