What a Gem. A real Italian Experience

This very small pasticerria is absolutely fabulous. Its been there since 1742 and the owners try to keep to the original traditions. The pastries are to die for and the coffee "perfecto" Once we discovered it we went there 3 times. Soooo good. Its a short walk from The Rialto markets and... read more

You can have place like this only in Italy. Maybe copied everywhere world wide, but with an horrible result. Because you have to be in place like this to get a real espresso, or a real cappuccino, or a real latte macchiato, or a real marocchino, or a Campari soda, or an Aperol soda, or a Prosecco ... Or an... More

This was recommended to us by a local guide and we spent quite a while trying to find it. It was worth the effort. It is very small and there is no choice but to stand with the locals with your coffee and cake, both of which were good and cheap.

Family run pasticerria with the freshest pastries. They had a variety of cookies and tarts, but the Venetian strudel was great.

I returned to Venice again this year and I was so happy to see my favourite bakery is still as popular and lovely as ever! Lots of homemade cakes and pastries and the hot chocolate is amazing! Even better as I got to share the puddings here with my mum for a early mothers day treat! Still the best sweets... More

We stayed in an appartment nearby for 3 night, and Rizzardini was our place for having breakfast - the Italian way: a cup of cappuccino or coffee and a croissant. Don't dare to sleep too late, you get no croissant! Well, a super soft fritola (a Carnival fried pastry) will do too... And have a chat with the other clients... More

We went there after reading its nice review in the guide book Le Petit Futé, Venise. After searching for it in the rain for three hours and after having visited almost all the attractions of Venice in one day, we finally found it! You cannot sit there (there is no actual chair) but drinking that espresso and eating 2 or... More

This appears to be a family run establishment who take a great pride in their food as well as the surroundings. It has a cozy quality and for five minutes, while you have an espresso, you feel truly embraced by Venice. Overhead is a really beautiful miniature glass chandelier which somehow epitomises the charm of the establishment. One evening we... More

Cute little pasticceria in the heart of San Polo. Almost like a dive. It may be busy but it's worth the wait...

Staying in San Polo

Neighborhood Profile
San Polo
The Rialto Bridge is the most famous sight along the Grand Canal in San Polo, smallest of Venice's six sestieri (districts) and by far the busiest neighborhood. Morning Venetians arrive to peruse the markets for fish, fruit and vegetables, while shops display goods from cheese to wine to desserts. San Silvestro and Rialto Market vaporetto (water taxi) stops add to the steady stream of foot traffic. San Polo is defined by churches including Basilica dei Frari, one of the most important churches sought by art lovers.
