looking at the menus we thought it would be mouth watering food but it was simple basic food. nothing interesting just pasta with a little sauce and the so called fish. expected something more for such high prices.

The seafood was fresh and wonderful. The rest of the food was nothing special. I thought it was on the expensive side.

Unassuming restaurant, easy to miss, no particular charm, but very tasty local food and pleasant welcome. Obviously family run, right to the kitchen.

This small restaurant delivered the goods with a very nice daily special of cuttlefish slivers tossed in a light tomato/garlic sauce. Truly excellent food, served up by a very helpful waitress. There are a few tables outside and a few inside. It's easy to overlook, but the quality of the food was significantly better than other restaurants I tried in... More

We had good simple dishes for reasonable price. If you do not expect something special you may come here again.

We stop there becouse it seemed a good looking location for drinking a glass of wine and eating some CICHETTI. We drank in total 2 glasses of normal wine (della casa, not a bottle of good italian wine) and ate one taste of Seppie (4 little one), one of vegetables and one of Alici (like 10 or 12 small and... I ate on my own, and was treated the same as larger groups, which is always a sign of good service. The food was simple and delicious. It was a few euros more expensive than I would usually pay for (as a budget traveller) but it was worth it.

We have eaten at Al Leon D’Oro on a regular basis since we discovered it on our first trip to Venice almost 7 years ago. Venice is a tough place to find authentic quality non-touristy places to eat and this restaurant is one of the few around. Al Leon D’Oro has been operated by the same local family for over... More

Went to Resturant having read the reviews and disappointing meal was Luke warm and limited menu. Cost 80 euros for a main course and dessert for 2 plus cheap I/2 bottle of wine.

We visited this bar restaurant twice first time for just a drink, liked what we saw and went back for a meal. We both had pasta to start, this was very good. We followed this with a balsamic steak and liver, a Venetian speciality, both of these really well cooked. The house red wine was very good and excellent value.... More
