We enjoyed our first dinner in Venice with outdoor seating. We had a reservation. We had the eggplant appetizer, gnocchi with pistachio, and pasta with shrimp. The eggplant was delicious. There is a cover charge here.

Situated on a quiet canal, a lovely setting for an evening meal. There are few tables outside so go early if you want one. Inside seemed full of locals which is the best endorsement. We had very a very good, very filling meal of fresh fish and local wine.

Very delicious and fresh food. We were there for diner and where delighted by our meal and the service, therefore we went back for diner again. Other couples we met at the restaurant had done the same as us. We highly recommend this restaurant. It is better to make a reservation in order to ensure you can get a table.

Nice food, nice waiters, very well hidden among the narrow streets of Venice. Worth going there if you plan to escape the confusion

Food really was amazing, service quite slow - if you have the time it doesn't hamper experience at all, but something to note. Shame we couldn't sit by the canal as seats were limited, but restaurant was intimate, nicely decorated and relaxed.

We were staying in the northern part of Venice and happened upon the sign pointing toward this restaurant down a side street/canal. It turned out to be our kind of restaurant - small, family owned and operated and a bit apart from the normal tourist hustle and bustle. It was so good and enjoyable we went back another night and... We got in to Venice pretty late, and asked the receptionst at our hotel if he could recommend some restaurants. Osteria al Cantinon was one of the picks. And Boy were we delighted to find this gem! The restaurant is very quaint, and the food was simply outstanding! The weather was quite bad this particular afternoon, so we were told... More

In June we discovered Al Cantinon in the north of Venice; it is by far one of the best restuarants I've visited in my years of travel in Italy. A family run establishment with maybe 10 tables; the mother is the chef and owner and the son the server. Really can't say enough about the quality of food and the... More

This restaurant provided what was probably our best dining experience in Venice. The waitress couldn't wait to describe every item on the menu, and in very fine detail, we almost felt the need to calm her down a bit ! Then when the food arrived we understood ,as it was beautifully presented, and tasted every bit as good as it... More

This was our first meal in Venice (and our first visit to this wonderful city). I had long dreamed of eating a romantic dinner in Venice sitting alongside a canal at a charming little restaurant. Having done my research ahead of time, I thought this restaurant was what I was looking for. Unfortunately, it wasn’t. Upon arrival, we received a... More
