Okay meal

Unlike other reviewers we found the staff friendly and attentive. Pizzas were good. I had the sea bass in tomato sauce and olives, which the waiter said was the house speciality. It came slightly overlooked but it was tasty. However, the menu mentioned the price varied by weight - when I got the... read more

We ate dinner here tonight. The food was good (which is why we gave it 2 stars instead of 1) and it was a nice looking air-conditioned spot between Saint Mark's and the Rialto. The trouble was the bill. We are used to all of the Venice up-charges now and weren't shocked when a simple dinner for 3 once again... More

A simple Italian restaurant with great food.Youcan take the boy out of Australia , but I still managed to find Hawaiin pizza in Italy ! Wife had the linguini carbonara and said it was one of the best she'd ever had . The pizza was thin base and cooked to perfection. Staff were great . I don't hesitate to recommend

Beware of the specials which the staff are keen to promote. the sea bass was priced by weight unlike the rest of the menu, and whilst is was very nice it came out at nearly twice the price of any other fish dished on the menu, including other sea bass dishes.

Its my worst experience in Venice. The service was terrible. The staff are angry all the time. The owner needs to pay well........because the staff are sabotaging the restaurant. The man in front of the restaurant is a liar!. The lady in the cashier is really the worst person that I knew in Venice. The pizza is not to bad... More

First, although the menu is Italian-like, it's not Italian. The manager, and I suspect, the cooks, are Chinese. The pasta with lobster, which was one of the more expensive items on the menu, was cooked to death. When I complained that the pasta was not al dente, the waiter told me that's now how they did it. I asked for... More

We'd been around St. Mark's area and decided to walk up to The Rialto Bridge, via the back streets. Wonderful what you find by 'bimbling around' this place. All roads around lead to St. Mark's or Rialto - hence the Per San Marco or Per Rialto signs!!! for the Americans amongst you. Anyway we were thirsty so decided to pop... More

I walked into this quaint little restaurant while in Venice, after a long day of site seeing, not having reviewed it. So, I'm was surprised to see some of the other less than positive reviews. (Maybe they got the message?) My experience was a VERY good one. I thought the staff was very attentive, the Spaghetti ai fruit di mare... More

Food was fine. Spaghetti marinara was full of well cooked seafood, the chicken and chips just that and the mixed salad very good. Waiter was fine. Only downside is that the add on ons end up making what initially appears as a cheap meal quickly add up. €5 in cover charges, €5 for water and pretty dear half litre of... More

Staying in San Marco

Neighborhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
