Il Nuovo Galeon is my absolute favorite restaurant in this part of Venice. I work on the Architecture Biennale every other year which means that I'm in Venice two-three times a year with quite a few colleages and business partners and we always visit this lovely restaurant at least twice per trip. Situated at Via Garibaldi, a few minutes walk... More

I have opted to review this restaurant because of the negative picture given so far. We enjoyed our evening at Il Galeon and any eccentricities made the experience the more enjoyable. The menu was interesting and food tasty. It was nicely presented with appropriate advice. It was not that expensive and anyway you should not expect to get decent food... More

Our first meal in Venice was a massive Debbie downer. The staff’s obvious disdain for foreigners was apparent almost immediately and I’m disappointed I didn’t ‘trust my gut’ as Oprah would say at get out before we ordered. Food was fine but v expensive and they applied a 6 euro service charge, I can only imagine was for the deep... More

Ate here sat 27th sept . Food very poor, service ? What service!!!!! 92 euros later felt totally ripped off , didn't dare complain as one American lady already had and suffered verbal exchange with owner ? Head waiter . It was our last evening in venice and totally spoilt after what had up to this incident been trually memorable... More

Near the Arsenal, on a wide walking boulevard. Outside tables are enjoyable. We came here for lunch on the recommendation of our tour guide earlier in the day. Its a mom and pop business, and I think pop was our waiter. Service a bit slow, but friendly. I ordered the tortellini dish with red sauce, which was just OK. My... More

If you're fed up of the hustle and bustle of San Marco, then have a wander down Via Garibaldi. It's a wide boulevard lined with restaurants, bars and shops which are frequented by tourists and locals alike. My wife and I had dinner here on two nights during our week's holiday in Venice and thoroughly enjoyed both occasions. We chose... More

This was a solid, excellent Italian meal. It is frequented by locals and tourists alike. We had some yummy razor clams for an appetizer and a hearty bowl of pasta for dinner. Moderately priced with cheery, timely service. A great choice for a classic Venetian dinner of good food!

In May, it was lovely to eat dinner outdoors. We ordered an octopus salad, fillet of soul fish, pasta: tortellini & penne. All tasted wonderful. Service was a bit slow as there were other tables previously reserved that received better service. The restaurant was a bit off the beaten path but we appreciated the quiet after spending the day amongst... More

Four of us were looking for a great meal on our last day in Venice - and we found it. We wandered in to a then empty restaurannt a little before 7pm and the waiter/patron told us we were a little early but could wait and have a drink if we wished. Best Prosecco we have had and the food... More

My partner and I went about 13th May. We knew nothing about the place and just found it by chance. It was very quiet when we went in. The waiter who spoke good English recomended a fish starter and a fish main course. I asked if that wasn't a bit too much fish, he said not. It was too much... More
