Best Ice cream in Venice

Had dessert here every night as it was near our hotel, delicious! The crepes are great and the staff are friendly and speak good English.

This gelateria serves some of the best ice creams I have had in Italy. It is a very small shop in a corner, off the beaten path, near the Fashion Museum in Palazzo Mocenigo. This is a nice area of Venice, by the way. The ice cream was delicious and incredible value compared to other gelaterie I had tried in... More

Followed up on a Wall Street Journal Review and tried San Stae. There may be better gelato in Venice, but we haven't found it and we are in Venice twice a year for a month. A little out of the way, but worth the walk. Nice people running it. Grom used to be our go to Gelateria(s) in Venice, but... More

We stumbled upon this little Gelato and pastry shop during our stroll trough Venice and the various flavors of Gelato immediately caught our eyes. The price of the ice cream was only 1.5 euro per scoop in a cone. That was one of the cheapest which was really delicious ones we could find in Venice.

This was a daily stop for me as I stayed in the neighborhood. Every single flavor I tried was outstanding. The price is quite fair for the quality of product. I also found the staff exceptionally nice and willing to speak English. I suppose the knowledge that one is dispensing happiness by the scoop would give anyone a sunny disposition!

This place has exceptional gelato. Many unique flavors like caffe con anise (coffee and anise), ricotta with walnuts, vanilla and ginger. Of course they have cioccolato and pistacchio. Really, really good and priced right! It's near Chiesa San Stae in Santa Croce.

We were on a free walking tour and the guide stopped us here. Not sure whether she has a deal with them or not, but we were not forced to purchase anything. This was our first gelati in Italy and it was very tasty. There were a good selection without being overwhelming. The service was fast and pleasant. If you... More

We stayed just around the corner from this little shop and was so pleased to find it. We tried other gelato in Venice but this place was the best by far. The area San Stae if wonderful, not too busy, just lovely.

This cute little gelato place was right around the corner from our hotel. We stopped in and got some delicious gelato for a very reasonable price while walking back to our hotel one night. If you're in the area, definitely stop in!

Staying in San Polo

Neighborhood Profile
San Polo
The Rialto Bridge is the most famous sight along the Grand Canal in San Polo, smallest of Venice's six sestieri (districts) and by far the busiest neighborhood. Morning Venetians arrive to peruse the markets for fish, fruit and vegetables, while shops display goods from cheese to wine to desserts. San Silvestro and Rialto Market vaporetto (water taxi) stops add to the steady stream of foot traffic. San Polo is defined by churches including Basilica dei Frari, one of the most important churches sought by art lovers.
