Surprising tasty

Meet by chance when hard rain come and gone and I lost in Venice. Surprising tasty but don't surprise after I check other comment in Tripadvisor. If you in venice, try it.

Great little spot! The gelato and frozen mousse were delicious, and the portions were very generous for the price. Only downside was the lack of flavours (maybe 8-10)- but the flavours change daily so it is worth a second trip. The service was great and it was probably the best gelato we had in Venice.

Our travel agent told us this was the best gelato in Venice and we agreed. The service was great and we got more gelato for the price than in any other gelateria we visited in Italy. Would definitely recommend.

The best ice cream I had in Venice, and I had a lot of it! Unfortunately, the service was terrible. The server chatted to a friend that she had just served for several minutes before acknowledging that we were waiting. Even then she barely said a word.

I'd read a few reviews saying that La Boutique del Gelato had the best Gelato so we just had to try it. I have to say I was really disappointed, not by the gelato but by the service! And even then the gelato was nothing to write home about. My husband and I walked in and said hello and the... More

The gelato was good, maybe even great but the service was terrible. No tasting allowed so I ordered the frozen yoghurt. The service was a mix of French arrogance and Italian disinterest.

Even though the gelato was very smooth and there were lots of flavours- it was nothing that particularly stood out. The server was quite rude and the cones seemed a little stale. They also didn't have pistachio flavour which shocked me since it is quite a popular choice

Good service and excellent gelatos. They have a large variety of flavors and most of them are unique.

The ice cream was just Ok, the scoop was smaller than the one in Gelato Fantasy and the cone was poor. The worst was the treatment we received there. The attendent was very loudly talking to a friend and didn´t mind stoping to serve us. So disrespectful...

For just €2 you get a very generous scoop! I like that in a gelato :) they also go the extra mile with their cones - they have waffle cones not the cardboard tasting cones they have everywhere and for €0.20 you can get a chocolate cone. They also have some massive waffle cones! The green apple (mela verde) flavor... More

Staying in Castello

Neighborhood Profile
Castello
Castello is the largest of the six sestieri (districts), and the only one not facing onto the Grand Canal. More than half of Castello is situated within Arsenale, the naval base, which occupies over one-fifth the area of Venice. This gentrified maritime neighborhood feels busy but casual. Castello’s side streets are laid back, with small boats lining canals criss-crossed by laundry. Semiannual exhibitions add a strong artsy current to the Arsenale area. Via Garibaldi in Castello, with its shops and bars, has one of Venice's rare straight and wide boulevards. When a large ship turns around the Lido to enter the Giudecca Canal, the startling sight creates an illusion that it will run aground right on Via Garibaldi! Families treasure Giardini near the island's tip, green with rare trees and grass, and Riva degli Schiavoni is a popular spot for Venetians to take a stroll to watch the sunset.
