A great all round place to eat...

Asking if this is one of the best meals one has ever had in a restaurant is unfair and I don't think helpful to readers! After all, it depends on what the particular venue excels in, (e.g an eatery specialising in fish, pizzas, pasta or a passion for curry). What I will review though is all of the... read more

Pasta is great and delicious. We ordered noodle with red shrimps and noodle with cuttlefish. And the waiter is really nice.

We took the tourist menu. The food was average, not very special. We asked to change the dessert from the menu to something else, that was no problem. The tiramisu was very good!! The wine was also very good!! Other people's food looked better. I guess we should have ordered à la carte. Better not take the menu...

We asked our hotel to recommend a restaurant with homemade pasta and sauces, A place locals would go, Well if I lived near this restaurant I would never go back, I asked if their pasta was homemade and if the seafood was fresh. Neither was true. I had the seafood pasta. The shrimp was teeny tiny and rubbery, no taste... More

It was raining heavily in Venice, so we chose to have a quick lunch inside in this restaurant. The atmosphere is a bit as you could imagine in an older Italian home. A cozy slightly old fashioned style. You can have decent basic food for affordable prices. Pastas, seafood and pizzas. The service is friendly and correct.

We came across this restaurant accidentally while strolling along the sea side. Checked it out on TA and decided to dine. We ordered pizza, anchovy pasta and tiramisu. All perfect in a garden setting (at the back).

Excellent dinner, our whole family could not have been happier with our dinners; pizza, pasta and the mixed grill fish. Best meal we had in Venice. Note: trip advisor map was wrong but google maps had the correct spot

Absolutely amazing Food (we had calzone and fish ravioli with prawn sauce and tiramisu) The restaurant has an interior garden which is nice to be in, really simple setting but with great food and stunning service! Long story Short; real food for real foodies

Very good authentic Italian cuisine. Recommended by a local resident. Very warm and friendly welcome, efficient service, tranquil garden at rear. Locals eat here. No hesitation in recommending.

Staying in Castello

Neighborhood Profile
Castello
Castello is the largest of the six sestieri (districts), and the only one not facing onto the Grand Canal. More than half of Castello is situated within Arsenale, the naval base, which occupies over one-fifth the area of Venice. This gentrified maritime neighborhood feels busy but casual. Castello’s side streets are laid back, with small boats lining canals criss-crossed by laundry. Semiannual exhibitions add a strong artsy current to the Arsenale area. Via Garibaldi in Castello, with its shops and bars, has one of Venice's rare straight and wide boulevards. When a large ship turns around the Lido to enter the Giudecca Canal, the startling sight creates an illusion that it will run aground right on Via Garibaldi! Families treasure Giardini near the island's tip, green with rare trees and grass, and Riva degli Schiavoni is a popular spot for Venetians to take a stroll to watch the sunset.
