I have been traveled Italy for almost ten days. All the restaurants that I visited is good, at least good service. I don't understand why this restaurant can get that high rate? Bad service, average food, how come I have to come here and leave in anger?

We've been there due to the good critics on Trip Advisor, but we were so disappointed of the pizza... It was not good at all... Maybe another cook?

Very bad service. Very bad pasta. Very bad mozarella. Very bad wine. What else? We did not try the coffee as we had a fight with the waiterS. Full of tourists. Bolognese is not home-made. Seafood is apparently not fresh - or at least as my ill friend said the next day: not fresh

I ate at this restaurant twice when I was in Venice in 2013, finding the food good, but noted that the waiter was a bit surly - par for the Venetia course. I think internet feedback such as tripadviser have encouraged a significant improvement in service standards in Venice over the past five years or so. Over the 35 years... More

Probably not the best pizzas in Venice, but the rest is very good. We tried the lasagna, the fried squid, the mussels, ham with roquette salad, all nice! The vino della casa is excellent! I recommend.

Found on Trip Advisor. Worth finding. Just off main route between Castello and St Marco. Very traditional pizza. Clearly homemade. Great flavour. Random decor in the restaurant but really nice at the same time. Recommended

My mother, brother and I arrived in Venice unsure of what to expect. We all eat gluten free for medical reasons and spent endless hours on the internet mapping out places we might try. Lo and behold, there was a restaurant around the corner from our hotel that was delicious and amazing! I think we ate there 5 times in... More

We were in Venice for a couple of weeks and had dinner here several times. It was one of our favourite places for dinner. The waiter recommended the plates of the day which were consistently delicious. We look forward to going back here the next time we're in Venice.

We found this little restaurant while wandering Venice after an evening concert. We chose the tourist menu which was three courses for 18 euros. We both went for the seafood spaghetti starter which was delicious. For main course I had the pork chop which was ok and my husband had the liver which he said was lovely. The pudding was... More

Staying in Castello

Neighborhood Profile
Castello
Castello is the largest of the six sestieri (districts), and the only one not facing onto the Grand Canal. More than half of Castello is situated within Arsenale, the naval base, which occupies over one-fifth the area of Venice. This gentrified maritime neighborhood feels busy but casual. Castello’s side streets are laid back, with small boats lining canals criss-crossed by laundry. Semiannual exhibitions add a strong artsy current to the Arsenale area. Via Garibaldi in Castello, with its shops and bars, has one of Venice's rare straight and wide boulevards. When a large ship turns around the Lido to enter the Giudecca Canal, the startling sight creates an illusion that it will run aground right on Via Garibaldi! Families treasure Giardini near the island's tip, green with rare trees and grass, and Riva degli Schiavoni is a popular spot for Venetians to take a stroll to watch the sunset.
