Best Night of our 6 weeks in Italy

We stayed opposite this restaurant and had a few meals there, which were all excellent. The restaurant is on the canal and very picturesque in a very quiet spot to soak up a non-touristy area of town. Loved the service - and the food was wonderful! Not the usual trendy tourist place -- very real and homey -- don't miss it!

We ate here one evening as we were staying just around the corner, and it looks so perfect. We had a table by the little canal, got serenaded by the wandering accordian player who seemed very pleased when I gave him a 2 euro coin - he was worth it! We chose to have the fixed menu, which was surprising... More

Used this small restaurant on night we arrived as close to hotel and on second night due to torrential rain, The food was just okay, staff were friendly, however the chef and waiter had what appeared to be a huge arguement in full view of customers, made us feel a bit uncomfortable. The chef wasn't there the second night. We... More

Visisted this restaurant as it was close to our hotel and seemed to have good reviews on tripadvisor but have since noticed on reading more that it seems to have changed hands and went downhill. Anyway, we went because I noticed this place during an evening walk around this part of Venice and it looked very quaint and charming, checked... More

This was one of the few occasions where tripadvisor really let me down. We had decided to walk around this bit of Venice and so quickly checked all the 4 out of 5 ratings and above and made notes on a map. When we arrived at the restaurant it was empty, which is normally a bad sign however, considering the... More

I cant talk about the food as i did not have the chance to taste it as the owner basicaly kicked us out cause we had two children and two prams that were blocking his empty (!!!!!) resto...he first asked us how many we are , and then when we told him we wanted two fixed menus he started complaining... This was recommended by the guidebook but suspect as others have said the owners have changed. To be fair we had a pleasant lunchtime drink there one day and the food that was being served looked good - so we went back the following evening. It was a mistake. The main course food was average but quite expensive, the service... More

Unfortunately this nice Osteria has changed significantly since I did my last review. Sorry to say this, however all that I can really add is; look for yourself. Wish I could report something better.
