Poor service, high prices and poor quality...

Sort of tourist trap... don't go there ! We tried Osteria La Patatina, which is couple of minutes from this restaurant and we had a great dining experience (similar price).

We stopped and had the two course daily special, started with seafood pasta and the main was a massive piece of monkfish with potatoes all for €18! The service was great, relaxed atmosphere and there is also a gondola station right next to the restaurant with a lovely man who serenades as well. Definately worth a try.

Cramped, full, busy and terrific, give it a go! Great food, Prosecco in a jug, what else does a diner need 😃

I ordered shrimp with lemon and olive oil which I enjoyed but my tagliatelle with pesto was overcooked... very soft/soggy. Service was fine though.

This restaurant was around the corner from our b&b, so it was a perfect place to try. We liked the outdoor setting at the end of a narrow canal. The staff was a little stiff, and the prices were a bit high, but the food was good. I had a vegetarian omelette with a nice, fresh green salad, and my... More

Food had average taste, pizza was quite good. Scalopine was quite good also. The worst was that they wanted to pay cash although they had sign for credit cards.

The food was mediocre and there are plenty of other restaurants available in Venice. I personally wouldn't recommend. Staff wasn't attentive and kept knocking my chair as he walked pass.

I went there with my friends, we were on a school trip and we were upset of that awful food included in the trip. So we started looking for a traditional restaurant because typical food is fundamental for knowing well a city. We saw the notice of this "trattoria" and we were sure it was the place perfect for us.... More

If you haven't been out for dinner since 1994 and you still find spaghetti bolognese exotic; then you won't hate this place. However if you have gone a little out the way looking for a hidden gem then you have picked the smart price of service and food. Simply, don't come here, whilst the owner and waiters grumpily and nostalgically... More

Staying in Castello

Neighborhood Profile
Castello
Castello is the largest of the six sestieri (districts), and the only one not facing onto the Grand Canal. More than half of Castello is situated within Arsenale, the naval base, which occupies over one-fifth the area of Venice. This gentrified maritime neighborhood feels busy but casual. Castello’s side streets are laid back, with small boats lining canals criss-crossed by laundry. Semiannual exhibitions add a strong artsy current to the Arsenale area. Via Garibaldi in Castello, with its shops and bars, has one of Venice's rare straight and wide boulevards. When a large ship turns around the Lido to enter the Giudecca Canal, the startling sight creates an illusion that it will run aground right on Via Garibaldi! Families treasure Giardini near the island's tip, green with rare trees and grass, and Riva degli Schiavoni is a popular spot for Venetians to take a stroll to watch the sunset.
