Great place for Beer O'Clock Ok for food

Situated in Campo San Angelo this is a great spot to spend an hour or two people watching and having a beer in between the sightseeing. We came across this restaurant when searching for somewhere to eat late at night after a show. It was still open and happy to cook for us after 9:30. Our meals were lively and service was great. Do be fooled by the small size from the window. There are more tables upstairs.

Way over priced. We paid 44 Euros for an anti pasta, bruschetta, wine and a beer. Although the food was not terrible, it was just average quality and way over priced. For example later that evening we ate else where... Anti pasta, bottle of wine, 2 dinners, 2 desserts, and 2 coffees for 73 Euros and the quality was top... More

The price says it all. No prices for drinks on the menu. They are cheaters. AVOID. Wine was of poor quality as well.

Our family enjoyed a delicious lunch of pizza, salads and gelato for lunch. The service was good and the waiter very helpful with suggestions.

The pizza was bad but the risotto was worst. And the serving times were long. Definitively a tourist trap.

With a raised terrace nestled in the corner of a pretty square this Hostaria looked ideal. It is within easy reach of Vaporetto stop Sant'Angelo and not far to either Saint Marks or the Rialto. There were plenty of parasols for those wanting to avoid full sunshine. I am not sure the waiting staff were even Italian, but whatever the... More

Over priced beer poor attitude from staff. View and the sun were its saving grace. Large beer was €11.20 and the couple next to us we're going to be charged for a pot of milk until they refused which was greeted with surly attitude and negative comments being spat out by the grumpy waiter. I would not stop here again.

Very friendly service, excellent food, enjoyed it on a nice calm square. Good price/quality. In the middle of Venice, on a gorgeous old square, we just stumbled on to this restaurant and enjoyed a superb lunch. I do think I could not find it again if I would have to back.. But if you go to Venice, it is worth... More

We initially stopped in just for a drink which was met unenthusiastically by the staff. The drinks came and then we decided to have something to eat. We shared a pizza which took over 30 minutes to get. One staff member told us it would be 1 minute. 5 minutes later we told it would be 2 minutes. 10 minutes... More

Staying in San Marco

Neighborhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
