Great Restaurant

Had dinner here on recommendations on Tripadvisor - not disappointed. Beautiful food, wine, ambience and service and next door to accommodation.

My wife and I went there on our recent trip to Venice, because it seemed like a local restaurant and not too "touristy". There were only three other groups there, and all three were Italians. We split the appetizer, which was scallops cooked three different ways. The scallops were absolutely amazing...so good that we had to order a second plate... More

We chose Ribot because of the reviews on TA. We also wanted to try some sea food and a lot of the other restaurants served the standard Italian pizzas and pastas only. It was a little hard to find but it's a nice walk, 2 streets down from The Grand Canal. We went at 10pm so it was a little... More

I choose this restaurant according to trip advisor reviews and I like it very much. I like the spaghetti with fresh tuna and another dish that has rice with seafood. Highly recommend specially if you want to eat something other than pizza.

Excellent food and a warm atmosphere. Service was excellent as was the food. Pricing was very moderate. A most enjoyable meal.

We got lost in the streets of Venice and were fortunate to stumble on this gem! The owners were welcoming and accommodating. the wait staff went above and beyond, and the food was a delicious representation of local cuisine. Delicious, well, beautifully presented, and a beautiful décor in the restaurant. Recommend to all!

I think we picked up this recommendation from one of the major newspaper's websites and it was just around the corner from our hotel. Really excellent food, beautifully presented and really nice service. Everything on the menu looked good so we just went for a couple of shared starters plus a busara pasta dish and then pork cheeks and John... More

This restaurant was recommended by our hotel so we did a little research and decided to go. In a small side street in Venice this little place is out of the main tourist areas. The menu was very simple, three courses with a selection of choices. All courses we chose were fabulous. It's also very reasonably priced for Venice. 3... More

As one might be want to do in a city like Venice, we found ourselves wandering aimlessly yet happily...with no real idea as to where we were. So happens, a little out of the path of the busier sections sits this quaint little restaurant, easily missed if not for the sudden realization that we were famished (1pm). A few window... More

We came for a late dinner at the suggestion of our hotel, like many others it would seem! We all ordered various homemade pastas and were pleasantly surprised. My ragu was full of flavour with perfectly cooked al dente pasta. Service was fine, bill relatively reasonable.

Staying in Santa Croce

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Croce
Santa Croce gained importance as a sestiere (district) when Piazzale Roma was created in the 1930s to bring cars and buses close to the center of Venice. Constitution Bridge spans the Grand Canal linking Piazzale Roma to the train station. This area buzzes with energy from travelers and students. Historic palaces and former industrial buildings house some departments of Ca' Foscari and IUAV Architecture universities. On the Fondaco dei Turchi, Venice's Museum of Natural History offers Venetians prehistoric thrills, plus an overview of lagoon fish and wildlife. The Grand Canal, northern boundary of Santa Croce, is lined with palaces and decorated by the tall green dome of San Simeon Piccolo. Ca' Pesaro attracts Venetians to its contemporary art exhibitions. The Grand Canal exposes only one face of these buildings. On the opposite side, the palace often interacts with a square or a busy street to represent its neighborhood identity.
