Bar Verde was on our way to a hotel. It was our "time to take a break" bar. So, every day after long sightseeing tours, we took a table outside and ordered an aperols and got great snacks. We tried also delicious cakes and sandwiches, tramezzini, bruschette. (prices:al banco/al tavolo). It's busy, vivid atmosphere all day... it's a bar where... More

We stopped here for lunch since Rick Steves mentioned this place in his Venice book. The Verde has a convenient corner location, but that is about it. The menu showed a nice, big plate of lasagna for 8 euro, so my husband decided to order it. Instead of a plate of pasta, he got ONE slice. Yes, one tiny slice... More

This is not a place to enjoy a meal, but it is good place to stop for lunch if you just want a panini or pizza slice. There is a standing room bar and some very close seating. The Italians were having their coffee etc. at the bar and the tourists were sitting! It's always good to see Venetians eating... More

Our first meal in Venice. I myself decided on the carbonara whilst my partner decided on the tomato pasta. My carbonara turned out to taste like easy mac, whilst my partner only giving her pasta an average score. We both got a latte which was really nice, alongside a croissant. This alongside a really attentive staff member managed to save... More

The place was ok. A sandwich place with good coffee. Very much an Italian place. One of our waiters was a very handsome guy and the one that attended us a very ugly and fat one. :) Very Italian and great for a brunch. Just beware of the pigeons. The hosts seem to allow pigeons to enter their small place.... More

Busy thoroughfare & cafe but great atmosphere. Handy for breakfast & a cheaper alternative to some of the whopping prices being charged for breakfast at the hotels. Good choice for lunch & a table outside if you can grab it!

Countering the other reviewers we gave it a try and ate panini for lunch in this place. What is rude for others to us was just Italian and it was courteous enough. One thing it wasn't was pretentious but the price was according to that. Trust the locals wherever you go, they say, and there were a lot in here.... More

We stopped here for lunch after the Doge's Palace tour. It was close and convenient and in Rick Steve's guidebook. They had a nice selection of salads, pastas, and sandwiches. They also served a good cappuccino. We sate outside and it was a great location for people watching. A little accordian player even came by and serenaded us. Service is... More

We were looking for a quick lunch before catching the train on our last day in Venice, and after searching for one that was open at 11:15 on a Saturday morning we were relieved to find Bar Verde. I had the Panini Rustica with prosciutto, smoke mozzarella, eggplant and mushrooms and it was very good. My husband has the Genoese... More

first of all, I am assuming this is the corner shop at the end of Calle de le Rasse, as described in Rick Steve's book. We stayed at Casa Cosmo, which doesn't have a breakfast room and we declined breakfast and found this place by chance. We went 2 days in a row. For what it is worth, the place... More
