Great Italian food

The prosciutto with melon was really good but quite overpriced for the portion size. The lasagna bolognese was the best I've ever had. The panna cotta for dessert was really nice. The house wines were actually really nice (we had both the white and the red)! Great food overall and good service.

We visited this restaurant last November while holidaying in Venice and it was definitely the best meal of our trip! With only a few covers, it's the perfect place for a really authentic atmosphere. The menu is all in Italian but the staff were so friendly and more than happy to go through everything with us. The food (especially the... More

We had a great meal with two starters (mussel/clamps and beef carpaccio), two main courses (black ravioli with sea bass and lasagne) and a bottle of red wine, and it didn't cost more than 80€. Everything was delicious, the service was splendid and the atmosphere was casual and romantic. Small place, only 7 tables, so making a reservation is recommended.

Firstly please book ahead as there are 2 sittings 7pm and 9pm. Thankfully we hit lucky as they must have had a late cancellation so there was one 1 table left available. The restaurant itself is only small roughly 8 tables. The staff were very helpful very cheerful. Food ordered and came promptly and was fantastic. Myself the scallops my... More

The food was outstanding ... we had a mixed salad, lasagna, ravioli with asparagus, wine and the chocolate soufflé. Even the mixed salad which was basic ... was delicious (fresh and tasty ingredients). We can't say enough about the food .... best choc soufflé that I have ever had. Also, the staff were so friendly and engaging with everyone. It... More

If you like fish, then you'll love this place. The fish is incredible fresh, tasteful and quite reasonable priced. It is a small cosy restaurant and always full, so you may want to reserve ahead.

We visited here on our last night in Venice following a search on trip advisor, to be fair I was not sure about our decision on arrival as it is extremely small but boy I was wrong, the staff were so helpful and attentive and the food was to die for, the lasagne was the best we had tasted!! We... More

This small little place has a homemade lasagna that is to die for. The waiter is very friendly, and the seafood is also very good.

We stayed in Venice for 4 nights, and ate here on the last! Saving the best for last is very apt for this little place! We booked a table (recommend you do this as people are turned away, 2 sittings 7:00pm or 9pm I believe) and turned up! The service was excellent, the waiter was friendly and very helpful! The... Staying in Castello

Neighborhood Profile
Castello
Castello is the largest of the six sestieri (districts), and the only one not facing onto the Grand Canal. More than half of Castello is situated within Arsenale, the naval base, which occupies over one-fifth the area of Venice. This gentrified maritime neighborhood feels busy but casual. Castello’s side streets are laid back, with small boats lining canals criss-crossed by laundry. Semiannual exhibitions add a strong artsy current to the Arsenale area. Via Garibaldi in Castello, with its shops and bars, has one of Venice's rare straight and wide boulevards. When a large ship turns around the Lido to enter the Giudecca Canal, the startling sight creates an illusion that it will run aground right on Via Garibaldi! Families treasure Giardini near the island's tip, green with rare trees and grass, and Riva degli Schiavoni is a popular spot for Venetians to take a stroll to watch the sunset.
