The best thing about this restaurant is its intimacy and the outstanding service, which is attentive, friendly and discreet. In the winter, when the outside space is closed, there are just a handful of tables in a cozy, quite plain room. The menu is not large but the quality of the food is high. Make sure you book, though.

We've now visited this restaurant 3 times over 2 years, including once for a Christmas Eve dinner, and we cannot recommend it highly enough. It is owned and run by a married couple, and they are extremely delightful people. The food is excellent--Venetian seafood specialties are obviously the highlights of the menu, but Virgilio, the chef, also makes all his... More

Well, we looked at previous reviews and found it was literally around the corner from our hotel. We hadn't booked a table but were accommodated very quickly. I'd book if I'm honest! Was very busy! The owner/waitress was fantastic... Was helpful with the menu and made recommendations. I had the vermicelli with cuttlefish ink my partner had the salt beef... More

Fantastic quaint little restaurant off the beaten track, with superb seafood and delightful service. Prices are extremely reasonable and it is not that well known, so is not taken over by trashy tourists! Traditional Venice cuisine and experience, cannot recommend highly enough.

Simply Delicious, we stayed at the nearby Giovanelli Hotel and walked past this a few times on the way to the Rialto Bridge before my partner and I went on our last night. tucked away on a small side street it isn't simple to find! However, the search is worth it as the food is mouth watering. We had the... More

After reading several positive reviews decided to go for authentic Venice cuisine on our last night unfortunately very disappointed and certainly not worth the trek or money. This is where you can burn your fingers with trip advisor average food, not cheap and no ambience.

This little gem is ran by a sweet wife whose husband is the chef. She was so hardworking and attentive and was very informative in regards to pairing your food with the right wine. The food was exquisite, I had a seafood medley pasta that tasted just perfect. It was not filled with too much pasta sauce that hides the... More

The location is not easy to find but the food quality is awesome! The service is also very good with reasonable price! This restaurant is run by husband and wife. My other dnner was at grand canal tourist area, the quality and service cannot compare with this restaurant!

This restaurant was a couple of minutes walk from our hotel. We booked a table and were glad we did as it is quite small inside and it may have been a bit cool to sit in the covered courtyard area on a November evening. The restaurant is not luxuriously appointed but the food more than makes up for that.... More

I can see why people rate this restaurant very highly. The food is amazing. My husband and I had the mussel and clam to start and it was delicious. Followed by mixed fried seafood, I have never tasted such sweet fresh seafood. To top the evening, BEST Pannacotta ever! It's a must. Booking is essential. People waited for nearly half... More

Staying in San Polo

Neighborhood Profile
San Polo
The Rialto Bridge is the most famous sight along the Grand Canal in San Polo, smallest of Venice's six sestieri (districts) and by far the busiest neighborhood. Morning Venetians arrive to peruse the markets for fish, fruit and vegetables, while shops display goods from cheese to wine to desserts. San Silvestro and Rialto Market vaporetto (water taxi) stops add to the steady stream of foot traffic. San Polo is defined by churches including Basilica dei Frari, one of the most important churches sought by art lovers.
