Just accross the Ponte Ascedemia. Lovely and serean in a quiet pizza very near to Pizza San Marco. Wine not served by the glass - they open a bottle of wonderful house wine and only charge you for what you drink. Excellent friendly service and good food.

Service you hope for & great food

Chose this based on food type available, reviews, and location - had tickets for a musical performance nearby. We both had pasta dishes. Initially a bit put off by the casual attitude of head waiter when advised we had no booking, however happy to say the service for the rest of the evening was... read more

We had a wonderful meal here. We found this charming place through our hotel. They really made us feel comfortable. They had little extra appetizers and finished with lemoncellos that were so good. The waiter was patient with us and described the menu for us. The food was excellent. The manager there was also great in helping us feel comfortable.... More

Great surprise.asked the concierge for a good casual pasta place and ended up and at a wonderful restaurant. We both opted for the mixed seafood with short noodles and were blown away. Aldo was fantastic. We enjoyed complimentary bruschetta and lemoncello. Great last night experience in an awesome town.

Remember to make your reservation in advance. We ordered steak and Lumaconi cu' capuliato. The bruschetta served as starter was the best bruschetta I've ever tasted. All ingredients are fresh and every bite is worth savoring. We came here for the Tiramisu but did not expect that the food to be so excellent, and the service is very good too.... More

Recommended by the hotel - and it turned out be a very good recommendation indeed! Lovely food and attentive staff - after a bit of to-ing and fro-ing we were able to get a table for 2 inside (a bit chilly otherwise) and enjoyed some great pasta and seafood. We felt we'd dined well - didn't mind the bill at... More

We went to this restaurant on the recommendation of the hotel concierge. The quality of the food was excellent. The only problem was that the starters did not come until after the waiter realized that he was bringing us our main course and the starters (Primi Piatti) had not been delivered! But, it wasn't a problem as they went well... More

On a mid-April evening, we sat inside. Nice room with tablecloths and a clean modern look. I thought there was a hint of snootiness on arrival, unexpected for decently-dressed seniors; maybe they were hoping for some glamorous people among the early diners. As soon as we got into ordering, the service was excellent and friendly. We shared a delicious eggplant... More

Visited this place for a drink outside, lovely place! The service was amazing, very friendly & funny waiter which encouraged us to return the next day to try the food! We were not disappointed, my boyfriend got the steak and i had a pasta dish! Highly recommend this place - well worth the money! To visit the same restaurant twice... More

We came here after visiting the Avademia museum and found the location neat and calm. The food was good for reasonable price. What we didnt like is that even though it wrote on the menu "no additional charges" in the bill there was a cover change of 3 euros for both of us. We would tip the waiters anyway, but... More

Staying in San Marco

Neighborhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
