Just accross the Ponte Ascedemia. Lovely and serean in a quiet pizza very near to Pizza San Marco. Wine not served by the glass - they open a bottle of wonderful house wine and only charge you for what you drink. Excellent friendly service and good food.

We had a very nice lunch at this place. The service is average, but the food is amazing. We tried to seafood pasta, both were very nice. Highly recommend this place for a nice lunch.

I booked this restaurant for Christmas Eve dinner and I am so glad we did! It was definitely one of the best meals while we were in Venice, it was so good I actually wanted to go back the second night and unfortunately did not have time. Food was FANTASTIC! The wai tstaff were fantastic even as chaotic and crowded... More

The black squid ink spaghetti was out of this world and the fish stew was outstanding! Following it all up with the house-made limoncello, looking forward to another visit to this great restaurant!

A Beccafico is a must in Venice! Piazza Santo Stefano has a great atmosphere and the food is even better. If it is warm request to sit outside!

My hubby and I loved our meal we had here. The service was over the top, the food was amazing and location was simply perfect for our concerto of the 4 seasons. Highly recommend this lovely spot. They close from 3-7 but worth coming back for.

Went to A Beccafico for dinner with my husband and we absolutely loved the food!! The restaurant was absolutely packed even in January when a lot of other places were struggling to get diners through the door. It is clearly also popular with locals which is always a good sign. I really wanted to have the Mussel soup which was... More

We decided to share our first courses and ignored the sensible advice of the waiter who said that the mussel soup (with pizza dough lid) was enough for two people. We were greedy and ordered those plus prosciutto plus other dishes and then each ordered pasta (including the famous lobster pasta). Those dishes are the stand-outs and order those first.... More

My second choice if 'Acqua Pazza' isn't available, the service is swift and I always order the Lobster with pasta and whatever is recommended by the server.

Staying in San Marco

Neighborhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
