The only good thing is a table by the Grand Canal

On our first evening in Venice the restaurant we were looking for was closed. Hungry and tired, we went to the Florida, even though it broke all our rules - a 'touristic' menu, staff beckoning from the sidewalk, pictures of the food, and typical American selections. We had pizza and wine, our most... read more

I have asked before I order the lobster and the waiter said its 30 euro I think it's a reasonable price for 1kg of lobster .The whole dining was quite well .When the bill came ,it shows the lobster is 180 euro and I have asked the staff of the lobster ,he said the lobster is 2kg 300g weighted and... Strolling past the Rialto Bridge we decided to stop at this location mainly due to the free wi-fi. The view is spectacular, overlooking the grand canal. The food was actually pretty good, better than expected and the service was ok. It was funny that we are from Florida and chose this place with the same name.

Food was average at best. Was there with my wife but the waiters were not happy that we shared one pizza. During bill payment, they really took their time and came back to me after 15mins and returned me change in coins. Stay away! There is also a 12% service charge which was secretly added to my bill without my... More

My husband was tired of walking and you can not sit alongside the canal without ordering food as well as drink. We stopped here for pizza and wine, despite knowing this was a tourist stop. The food was mediocre, but they did allow us sit down in exchange for ordering only one pizza to share between us. The restaurant next... More

Stay away from most of the restaurants on the Grand Canal near the Rialto Bridge. They are tourist traps with limited, expensive, menus and relatively poor food. Better to find smaller trattorie or osterie on the side streets and alleyways.

We stopped for a beer and sat and enjoyed the location by the canal and views of the Rialto Bridge. Yep , we sat so the cost for our drinks went up to 6 euros a beer, where if you stopped at a shop that sold a cold one would only cost you about 3 euros. The true Tourist trap!... More

Prices are high.. but you are on the main canal. Food is great. I had caprese and spaghetti al ragu i think its spelt. Arrived in great time. Tasted great. Bottle of red at 23 euro a little high but ive paid more for worse wine. Worth a visit if you are staying for a few days.

This is one of a string of nearly identical restaurants overlooking the Grand Canal near the Rialto Bridge. I don't know how you choose one over another, since their menus are similar as well, but we chose this one because the waiter allowed us to choose our table rather than telling us where we had to sit. The food was... More

Staying in San Polo

Neighborhood Profile
San Polo
The Rialto Bridge is the most famous sight along the Grand Canal in San Polo, smallest of Venice's six sestieri (districts) and by far the busiest neighborhood. Morning Venetians arrive to peruse the markets for fish, fruit and vegetables, while shops display goods from cheese to wine to desserts. San Silvestro and Rialto Market vaporetto (water taxi) stops add to the steady stream of foot traffic. San Polo is defined by churches including Basilica dei Frari, one of the most important churches sought by art lovers.
