Mediocre

Fried fish and polenta were tasteless but risotto was good. All a little average but the view makes up for it. Portions were small, had to ask for bread and wine measures low!

We waited over 15 mins for someone to take our order. My wife ordered pasta and wine but I was not hungry so just had wine. 5 mins later we were told to leave as we had to order 2 main courses. Unbelievable!! I was probably going to order a dessert aling with my wife. To place was only 1/3... More

I was wondering around Venice and thought this place would be lovely to stop and people watch by the Rialto bridge. I asked if I could sit by the water as there were many places but was told that I couldn't because I was alone. I was then introduced to the manager who wanted to stick me on a table... More

This is a disgrace for an Italian restaurant. I ordered pasta with seafood and I got some pasta with portions of fish inside... filled with fish bones. The were some almost dried mussels also in their shell but the seafood pasta was stinking fish. I was not able to finish my plate. The service was mediocre with two servants scared... More

What out for tourist traps in Venice. The Italian food in Italy is just not as good as what we get in the USA. I have to say that FLORIDA was one, if not the best on-the-canal-restaurant in Venice.

All the staff are arrogant and are basically just after your money. There nice as pie before you sit down but that soon changes after you've ordered your first course, then it's down hill from there. Foods not bad, but very over priced for standard food. Do yourself a favour and go over the other side of the bridge and... More

Absolute tourist trap, staff are arrogant and obnoxious, steer clear! For the sake of 0.20 euro short in change which was basically the optional service charge on a glass of wine, the short sighted staff couldn't act sensibly and let it go but instead made a big deal over nothing. Oh dear...

Myself and my husband ordered a starter for me because I wasn't particularly hungry, a main for my husband, a dessert, water, bottle of wine and two coffees. When we ordered the food the waiter was rude and seemed annoyed that we hadn't ordered more food! We ate the meal, which was edible but nothing special. We seemed to be... More

We (family of four staying four days in Venice in Ovtober 2014) decided to try to have lunch by Grand Canal close to the Rialto bridge. Yes, a bit suspicious because of the location. The first place we tried served practically all frozen food, so we left. Fortunately, because that way we found Florida. Sitting at a table 30 cm... More

Staying in San Polo

Neighborhood Profile
San Polo
The Rialto Bridge is the most famous sight along the Grand Canal in San Polo, smallest of Venice's six sestieri (districts) and by far the busiest neighborhood. Morning Venetians arrive to peruse the markets for fish, fruit and vegetables, while shops display goods from cheese to wine to desserts. San Silvestro and Rialto Market vaporetto (water taxi) stops add to the steady stream of foot traffic. San Polo is defined by churches including Basilica dei Frari, one of the most important churches sought by art lovers.
