Tried the fried sea bass and seafood plate with the garden salad. The seafood was fresh but the batter was way too salty. I had problems finishing my food and ledt half of it unfinished. Felt extremely disappointed, would not return

After spending several weeks in Venice, it became clear that high quality restaurants exist but are not always easy to find. The Da Mamo is a tiny place very near the Rialto bridge (towards San Marco and NOT the market side) that serves lovely fresh seafood and pasta dishes alongside pizza. Friendly and efficient staff. As in most restaurants in... More

Very cozy and friendly place. Had dinner with our 2 kids, they both loved it and the waiter really entertained them. Good value for money (relative to other Venice restaurants).

We ate here tonight after reading some fabulous reviews on trip advisor. I cannot understand how these reviews were from genuine diners as the food was dreadful and the service not much better. Tonight was mine and my husbands last night in Venice and so we wanted to enjoy a memorable meal in lovely surroundings. I ordered the bruschetta which... More

We visited Da Mamo three times in five days. It opened at 7pm and it was advisable to book or be there at bang on 7. We enjoyed the frittura mista, which is fried and battered fish, the liver and the fabulous ravioli. The desserts were fairly commodity. There were good touches, like the amuse bouche as soon as you... More

We found this via a recommendation in the Lonely Planet guide. When we turned-up the restaurant was packed but we were told that a table would be ready in around 30 minutes. On returning, we found our table being prepared and the staff were very friendly and welcoming. The food and wine were great and the prices were very reasonable.... More

Everybody seems to order pizza but we wanted the Tuna steak because of the pictures on Facebook. that was a summer dish they no longer had. We instead went with the Seafood pasta and I saw a steak on the menu. I asked the waiter if it was good and a course his response was "best in Venice". i thought... More

We were looking for a restaurant on one street in Venice and accidently found Da Mamo. The restaurant was full of people and when we asked how long we'd have to wait, we were told just a few minutes. A table was quickly cleaned for us ad we sat down within 45 minutes. We had a fabulous waiter (I believe... More

Set in a delightful side street close to the Rialto was this lovely little restaurant. We arrived at a busy time and the waiter was kind enough to notify us of a free table whilst across from the restaurant at a bar. I had the local 'Soar' Sardines which had a lovely delicate pickling and the Liver which was perfectly... More
