Good for lunch if you are tired of walking

We noticed the restaurant during our walk between canals. It was not on the sunny side of the bank and we decided to find another place under warm sunny light. Lucky for the restaurant, we did not find any interest place near by and decided to come back. We ordered seafood pasta, grilled sea bass... read more

We chose to dine here because of the premium location. The positives ended there. It was without doubt the worst food we experienced during our 5 day stay in Venice, and the level of service was consistent with the food quality, very poor. The manager spent the whole time we were there shuffling his business cards and trying to attract... More

Service, atmosphere and food second to none. The fillet steak is one of the best I've ever had The staff are really helpful and very friendly.

Nice location, very pushy service bordering on rude maybe that's what you get for being English in Venice. The service staff just walked up and down outside the restaurant, then decided to have a full blown conversation with a 'friend' next to our table! Food was good but nothing special, squid was the favourite.

Followed the reviews recommending the place and had a meal there with family, food was OK, expected better however the service is disastrous! Very unfriendly and rude waiter soiling the whole thing!

The fact that they need to use a 'waiter' to stand outside trying to tempt people in should have been warning enough... the very extensive generic multilingual menu should have been another clue.. but i guess at the end of a very long day getting lost in Venice our guards were down and we fell into the trap. As soon... More

We had dinner here tonight and took a menu for 21 euros. Didn't expect much but asked the server for his recommendations with fresh seafood and we got deep fried pre frozen squid and prawns. When we asked why it was deep fried and not fried they didn't want to understand. And after that they almost ignored us. We didn't... More

Great food, it was very authentic Italian restaurant! Wine was very good as well and staff was friendly. Would 100% recommend this restaurant for anyone who is strolling around venice.

The restaurant is only a "front" for robbing people passing by. It seems to be operated by Romanians and not Italians. We simply gave the place a second chance after our visit here two years ago, what a mistake. it was even worse food and service than the first time. Fortunately we only ordered a cheap pizza and two cokes.... More

As we had walked miles all day this was minutes from Corte dei Greci, we ate there every night! The tourist menu was good value at 17 euros. The a la carte was reasonably priced, the sea bass was delicious and boned for you at the table. It is a very busy restaurant, so the food is very fresh. We... More

Staying in Castello

Neighborhood Profile
Castello
Castello is the largest of the six sestieri (districts), and the only one not facing onto the Grand Canal. More than half of Castello is situated within Arsenale, the naval base, which occupies over one-fifth the area of Venice. This gentrified maritime neighborhood feels busy but casual. Castello’s side streets are laid back, with small boats lining canals criss-crossed by laundry. Semiannual exhibitions add a strong artsy current to the Arsenale area. Via Garibaldi in Castello, with its shops and bars, has one of Venice's rare straight and wide boulevards. When a large ship turns around the Lido to enter the Giudecca Canal, the startling sight creates an illusion that it will run aground right on Via Garibaldi! Families treasure Giardini near the island's tip, green with rare trees and grass, and Riva degli Schiavoni is a popular spot for Venetians to take a stroll to watch the sunset.
