Lovely restaurant away from the madding crowd

We reserved a table here having walked past it on the way to the Grand Canal- it looked lovely. We weren't disappointed. Amazing seafood & excellent, friendly staff. We felt so welcome & would definitely eat there again. Grazie!

Myself and my partner went for my birthday meal here during our visit to Venice, I choose the restaurant after it being named as the number 1 restaurant in the Cannaregio area in our guide book (Top 10 Venice). It was described as a seafood restaurant which my partner was worried about as he cannot eat fish but there was... More

We went for a cosy romantic dinner and had hoped for a bit of local authenticity. We were a bit disappointed when our dinner got interrupted by various touts and "artists" such as rose seller and a singer. There was no single Italian guests in the restaurant, all guests were tourists. The food was however delicious. Due to the unfortunate... More

This restaurant is situated on the same street as we live and we had received strong recommendations about it. The restaurant is close to the main street but somewhat hidden away so you will not pass it unless you know where it is. Definitely recommend to locate it since the food was so great that we had dinner here twice.

We stumbled across this unlikely looking restaurant as we were staying locally. We mixed and matched on the menu and they were happy to accommodate us. Delicious seafood. We ll be back !

I came to this restaurant following the reviews and it surprised me in a good way: The food was delicious and fresh. The staff was friendly and was a quiet escape from all the Busy restaurants. Would come there again for sure.

This place is amazing! A little hard to find but the seafood is fresh and delicious. The home made wine is great too and the service was great, really friendly people. I've loved the place and definitely will be back next time. Had a great time here! Make yourself a favor and enjoy this delicious food :]

Having heard of the owner's passion for ultra-fresh fish we popped in for some nicely-textured, rather bland raw sea-bass (even just an optional squeeze of lemon and pepper would have been welcome); robust cuttlefish with an unsupportive polenta and a slightly over-seasoned clam and spaghetti which was lifted with butter and garlic. The restaurant is situated behind a delightful water-level... More

Great place for a big portion of seafood spaghetti with a good salad. Hard to find and not much atmosphere. Fine for lunch.

Staying in Cannaregio

Neighborhood Profile
Cannaregio
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighborhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.
