Out of 7 nights we ate here 3 times. The food was excellent we had scallops, lobster.sea bass, it has a beautiful terrace overlooking the Grand Canal. Be prepared to go early or book if you want a table on the terrace. A warm welcome and excellent service.

If friends hadn't so enthusiastically recommended this restaurant we probably would not have gone in. The food is delicious, service is attentive and professional, and the terrace at the rear of the restaurant is directly on the Grand Canal. An entering diner might not even realize at first that it is situated on the canal, giving an authentic Venice experience.

Fantastic trattoria! Best pizza we've ever had. Excellent location - restaurant terrace on the Grand Canal, lovely staff, attentive but relaxed & so friendly! Loved it so much we went two nights in a row!

Best to get table on balcony overlooking the Grand Canal. Food is good and portions were the largest we had in Venice and included vegetables/salad but not cheap especially if you were enticed in by the low price set menu. You will be offered the full menu when you sit down and have to ask for the set menu which... More

On a recent Italian tour we were given a recommendation for Provoledo. It turned out to be a great night. We were ushered through the restaurant to a table on an outdoor, covered deck. Our venue overlooked the Grand Canal. Just beautiful. There were 6 of us. We order various pastas, meats and fishes and some wine. The only complaint... More

We ate here twice. Excellent Venetian cuisine as well as moderately 'Italian' dishes for those not so familiar. We still have trouble with portion sizes and both times we should have shared starters and main courses.as we waddled out over full! Cheerful staff, good service and for warmer days a wonderful canal-side veranda.

We have eaten here inside before many times usually in February, and we have thought it was average in every way. The real reason was we were staying next door at the Principe and we wanted somewhere nearby. The service has always been veryfor Italian waiters who really did nto want to be there, but this time we had lunch... More

No complaints! We wanted to try a few of the other top-rated mid-range restaurants in Venice, but we were there on the Monday after Easter, and the first 3 we went to were all closed for the holiday. Starving and not willing to look around any longer, we looked in TripAdvisor for something near the train station, since we were... More

This restaurant might not look appealing from the street, but it has a very nice dining room and wonderful terrace to enjoy the meal. The staff is very friendly, the food is quite simple yet delicious, and the wine list is nice, too. Not a tourist trap at all.

Staying in Cannaregio

Neighborhood Profile
Cannaregio
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighborhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.
