We searched and searched on Calle de la Bissa for Osteria Alla Botte, which had been highly recommended by friends, and when we had about given up, we stopped in a small hotel to see if they could help. Sure enough, the restaurant had moved. It's now called Trattoria Antico Calice and is on Clle degli Stagneri 5228 telephone 041-5209775.... More

Osteria Alla Botte is a great place to go for Italian food while in Venice. The service is excellent and so are the food and wines. I'm vegetarian and they prepared special meal for me and for some other people in my group. Would definitely go back.

The food was OK, seafood was fresh, but the waiter needed a few reminders and came around slowly. The lag between our first course and the second course was almost an hour - which was hard to excuse as tourist time is too valuable. Asked for the bill many times and finally had to walk out to the counter to... More

The reviews confused us - we think it is now Osteria Alla Botte, but the sign outside says Trattoria Antico Calice. Everything inside brands it as Osteria Alla Botte so it's very confusing. We got there at 7.30pm and it was about a third full - it filled up within minutes so I would advise booking. The food was good.... More

Wonderful seafood, great service (early arrival), and filled up fast with locals and tourists in equal parts. Great soup warmed us on a rainy night.

Osteria alla Botte has changed locations, name, and has lost its appeal. The new name is Trattoria Antico Calice and is located a block away from the Disney store. I had fond memories of the small Osteria in the funky location near the public restrooms with fresh local food with a handwritten menu. This is now a place for tourists... More

This was the first restaurant we ate at in Venice after recommendation by the hotel we stayed at. The service was excellent, very friendly. The food was superb and we noticed that lots of local people were eating in the place, usually a good sign. The price was very reasonable. If you eat here try the lobster pasta for two... More

Searched for this restaurant, only to find it closed down. However, a local post lady advised that the restaurant had moved lock, stock and barrel, round the corner to Calle degli Stagneri,5228 and was now in the premises of Trattoria Antico Calice but still with it's old telephone and fax numbers. The ambience is plain but cosy and the staff... More

This restaurant is now known as Trattoria Antico Chalice and is located on Calle degli Stagneri. We decided to visit this restaurant based on the mostly positive reviews. The antipasti of mussels and clams in garlic and white wine sauce was excellent. After that, the grilled sea bass and mixed fried seafood and vegetables were just OK. For the two... More

This beautiful restaurant tucked away on a small street is well worth the find. The appetizer of mixed local clams and mussels was fresh and full of flavor. The main of scampi pasta was memorable. Authentic flavors with fresh seafood. The best meal so far in Venice. Great wine list also.
