Best gelato I ever taste.

The best gelato my husband and I took in our tour in Italy. Refresh dessert. Sweetness and creamy in balance.

OK it's Italy after all and standards for frozen deserts are high. The fruit flavors do not have the dense flavor of true fruit gelato made without cream and additives.

Good location, on the edge of a nice square. Tables are quite small and the place is crowded. They were not very helpful to provide table and bring additional seat for our group of five. The waiter was friendly tough. We had good icecreams and tasty iced coffees.

Lovely location in the piazza, and not too crowded as it's a 10 minute stroll from St Marks Square. Also much better value for superb ice cream, and if you order a large beer, be aware it is a VERY large beer ! Thoroughly recommended, an ice cream Sundae with fresh strawberries and cream is cheaper than a basic cornet... More

Excellent ice cream and devine sweet treets. As good as last time when we were here 4 years ago. Great ambience sitting outside and experiencing the Venetian lifestyle.

We were in Venice for daughter's wedding 25-29 July 2015. Each day we spent time at this friendly relaxing Gelateria which also does lunch. Ice creams and coffees gorgeous. The ice cream with amarena and sour cherries is glorious - likewise the strawberry one and the fresh fruit salad. Such good unpressured service. The bill is explained in a dignified... More

It's been a long while since I was here but I was reminded by a friend visiting Venice asking if there was one place I'd return to for food where would it be. He has now reported back that the icecream here is still amazing.

Having done a gelato tour in Rome & learned what to look for when choosing a gelato stop, this Gelateria seemed better than others. Good value given its location right on the square. Give it a try!

Gelato was good, and it would be perfectly fine to claim this as the best in Venice, but the granita was excellent and should not be missed. Service is good and friendly.

Staying in San Marco

Neighborhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
