venice indian restaurent

This is Indian(???)restaurent near Venice metro central station about 600m on the opposite side. Items are good but price paid is heavy. Also charging 2.5 Euro per person as service charge which is heavy. Food choices are limited & some choices are good. Check your budget and visit!!!!!!!!

This restaurant had the worst service. When I ordered a plate of "Basmati Rice" ordered, they never gave it. I had to ask 3 TIMES to receive only a plate of rice. Also, I asked for a certain dish. They charged for it STILL on the check when they never gave it to me. As an Indian myself, this wasn't... More

We went to ganesh ji listening good reviews from trip advisor. But it was more worse than we could ever think of.the staff was bad and rude. No Indian staff and how can these Chinese know how to make our Indian food. Malai kofta was made with burnt balls of some stale vegetables. It tasted like hell. Very very very... More

This is an excellent restaurant in Venice not far from Forvea, the railway station. 5 minutes walk straight across the bridge on the Grand canal opposite the station. Food is fantastic. Good selection of dishes. Naan and Malai kofta were best but other vegetarian dishes that I tried were also very good such as matar paneer, chana masala, veg biryani.... More

We had been apprehensive on visiting Ganesh Ji as some of our close one's didn't have good reviews about the place but 1. Good Indian Food in the Main Venice Area 2. Pretty much accessible 3. There is a change in management & the new guys seems to be quite courteous enough 4. Seems like they don't have any indian... More

We went for a curry for a change and thought we had come across a gem, . the manager and waiter were very accomadating and helpful. but although starter was passable the main was the "blandest thing on the menu" and not half as tasty as the bill which was astronomical ,,,,dont go there

Ganeshji was in my to do list in Venice this time since I was impressed first time last February. So took my family on last Sunday evening for dinner. First of all the change in decor from what I have seen last year: Functional but not impressive. Lack of care felt the way it is designed. What happened to the... More

Please do not waste your money at this place. A friend and myself felt like having a change from Pizza and Pasta so thought lets give this restaurant a go. Being Indians who eat curry more or less everyday you could say we're hard to please and know what's good and what's bad. During ordering I told the waiter 3... More

Staying in San Polo

Neighborhood Profile
San Polo
The Rialto Bridge is the most famous sight along the Grand Canal in San Polo, smallest of Venice's six sestieri (districts) and by far the busiest neighborhood. Morning Venetians arrive to peruse the markets for fish, fruit and vegetables, while shops display goods from cheese to wine to desserts. San Silvestro and Rialto Market vaporetto (water taxi) stops add to the steady stream of foot traffic. San Polo is defined by churches including Basilica dei Frari, one of the most important churches sought by art lovers.
