I have been visiting this restaurant with rooms over the last 25 years. It is located in a perfect garden on Torcello. If you are lucky and have a perfect Sunday in May for your lunch, as we did, then a lunch in the garden under the vines is one of the most enjoyable experiences in Venice. The restaurant has... More

We made two mistakes. We tried to get to the restaurant by public transport (boat - thinking it would be fun and it was the opposite - on the way back you have to call them to ask them to call at your stop) - and we went for dinner. I strongly suggest you hire a water taxi to get... More

Lunch at Locanda Cipriani was a highlight of our trip to Venice with our three children - if only the other restaurants with the Cipriani name was as reasonably priced! We were welcomed in out of the rain despite looking like drowned rats and were made to feel like special guests. The bread was superb and we were also given... More

I thoroughly recommend an excursion to Burano and Torcello. If you take the vaporetto its cheap and easy and you get a good sense of how extraordinary it must have been all those centuries ago to build towns in the middle of marshes in the middle of the sea. And if you are on Torcello you might as well have... More

Second time at Locanda Cipriani, but this time we passed the night there. It was really a romantic and unforgetable experience! They have 6 rooms with lovely antique furniture, nice parfum and library at your disposal in each room! Take your time in the perfect silence of the Torcello Island (12 inhabitans only!) and read a book in your armchair... More

Had a very enjoyable family lunch here after Christmas. Lots of fun arriving at Torcello and the restaurant has - not surprisingly - a totally different feel from Venice itself. Good food, if not outstanding, good wine list and very reasonable prices. Professional service, not cynical at all. overall an experience I'd definitely recommend.

We celebrated Christmas at Locanda Cipriani in Venice for the 2nd time this year. The 1st time in 2006 was splendid, the 2nd time in 2012 was equally as splendid, if not more so.. Going to this restaurant is not only a superb culinary experience, but is all embracing. From the trip by ferry across the lagoon from Venice via... More

We went to Torcello on 31st October and, despite appalling weather, thoroughly enjoyed seeing the old cathedral and museum. Torcello predates Venice itself and worth a visit. Our lunch at Locanda Cipriani was delightful despite heavy rain and floods. We chose the E55 menu and topped it up with courgette flowers tempura "style" and stuffed with prawns (one portion split); a... The ambiance of this renowned restaurant is second to none with discreet service and excellent food.It can be reached by boat in 40 minutes from Venice and and en-route a visit to Murano and Burano. The Island of Torcello lives in a time -warp and the church dates back to the 7th century AD.The gardens of the Locanda are beautifully kept...
