The seafood is unique, ultra fresh, and beautifully prepared. The restaurant is a hideaway and not easy to find, nonetheless it it always busy, and be prepared to spend many ducats for the meal! You'll really enjoy it, and the people watching too.

Intimate little place, with great food. It is pricey, but good value for money-you get what you pay for. We hadn't booked, but as we were early (7pm and they start seating at 7.30) they seated us and brought drinks and the complimentary fried shrimp. Skipped anti pasti which would have stretched our budget, and they offered to do a... More

I managed to book a table on the last day of my holiday. The food and the ambiance was absolutely fantastic, so it was a great end to my short stay in Venice. The staff were very warm and took time to explain the food when it was brought to our table. My husband asked them to recommend a wine... More

Two lunches and one dinner later, I can state with confidence that Antiche Carampagne is a great restaurant, serving fantastically fresh and tasty seafood. There are a few non-fish options for people like husband who does not touch any seafood, and who stated that his Venetian style liver with onions and polenta was better than in any other Venetian restaurant.... It's hard to find good food in Venice, and it's a bit because Venetian food can be excellent. Antiche Carampane is one of those rare gems that manages to serve excellent Venetian food in a lovely location near Campo san Polo. It's hard to find and a bit expensive, but this is Venice after all: everything is hard to find... More

I love the sign that hangs outside this eatery: No pizza, No lasagne, No menu touristico! In Venice, so many restaurants cater to tourists, that this one feels the need to assert its identity for serious food. Ask for antipasto misto and you will receive a platter of carefully selected and beautifully cooked seafood from the lagoon and the sea.... More

Was here at the end of November with my boyfriend and my mother on our discovery of Venice. I live in Canada but am from Rome. It's a very Italian place...its about the food, not about the fancy shmancy presentation of 1 cm of food on a large empty canvas. It was a very busy night (Thursday) and many got... More

Wonderfully cooked vongole and a terrific deep fried cone of little shrimp. The spider crab tagliatelle was superb and i finished it with a nice dessert of panna cotta. It's a tad difficult to find but well worth the effort.
