Very nice setting and food

Not cheap, but you get what you pay for: Wonderful setting by the Canale della Giudecca opposite of the Hilton Molino Stucky. Very good cuisine and lovely staff. At the end of our dinner, the owner came to our table and thanked us, gave us a bottle opener as a souvenir. We will be back.

Wow what can I say about this place but it is the most AMAZING restaurant in all of Venice. The service is OUT of this world. The owner takes pride in taking care of you himself. This is fine dining to the FINEST. They treat you like you are a king. The food is not your standard Italian fare so... More

We had an absolutely outstanding lunch at Riviera in December of 2015. It doesn't hurt that the location is gorgeous, in the most beautiful city in the world, but the food more than matched the location. This is a small restaurant with only a few tables. We were the first to arrive for a relatively early lunch without reservations, and... More

We found Riviera due to it's high rating on Trip Advisor and am so glad we did. We went for lunch on my birthday and have to say it was the best meal we had in Venice. Firstly the service is excellent, the waiters/waitresses are always there but are completely unobtrusive. We were provided with menus and then given a... More

Ate here for a Sunday lunch in 2013, and as a result booked for NYE 2014. The food is fantastic, and the service - lead from the front by the owner - is exceptional. A real way to treat yourself!

The food, atmosphere, staff and location are outstanding. The owner spoke to us all personally and as it was our anniversary organised a treat for my wife. I cannot recommend this experience highly enough! we will be back. Jim and Catherine Canberra Australia.

One of the highlights of our Europe trip, fine dining at its best! The owner was very friendly and the staff was courteous and helpful. The calamari appetizer was succulent. And the seabass fillet was very fresh and nicely steamed and seasoned. Indeed a gratifying dining experience!

Nice dining room pleasant and knowledgeable staff looked over by a genial owner, good wine list. Live and relaxing harp music was enjoyable. The food whilst well prepared was rather minimalist and given the very expensive prices did not make for a satisfying dining experience

GPCremonini, Proprietario at Riviera, responded to this review

Hello I'm GP Cremonini, the owner. Not a "genial" one, but simply the owner, that with all the Riviera Staff spent his time searching for Real Products and then working on it in a way to propose to our Guests simply the reality of these Products. With a complete respect and for the Guest and for the Products, fruits of... More

We have eaten out in many places and countries over the years and our evening at Riviera ranks as one of the best we have had. The food, wine, ambience and service were all faultless . While this is quite an expensive restaurant it is with out doubt very good value and money well spent. The entire experience was WONDERFUL... More

We booked here for dinner on Christmas day and were concerned given some of the feedback we saw on Tripadvisor. Some of the responses from GP were quite interesting. We emailed GP prior to the sitting and were provided with a sample menu with pricing and a recommendation as to what the average spend was per head so there would... More

Staying in Dorsoduro / Accademia

Neighborhood Profile
Dorsoduro / Accademia
Artsy is the defining mood of this neighborhood with street artists, students, painters, sculptors, restorers, curators, historians, collectors, heirs and heiresses rubbing elbows. Peggy Guggenheim's collection, now a museum, lures chic locals for evening art aperitifs. Traditionalists and visionaries cocoon in bohemian luxury. La Salute basilica buttresses the neighborhood to the east. Gondolas bob in the morning light. The Accademia Bridge crosses the Grand Canal. A back street doubles as basketball court. Palaces house residents, or like Ca' Foscari a university, or a museum like Ca’ Rezzonico that attracts Venetians for concerts. Dorsoduro reveals its industrial roots too, in buildings converted to house university departments or exhibitions. Campo Santa Margherita bursts with youthful energy from local students. Foot traffic bustles to and from Piazzale Roma and Santa Lucia train station. Evening commuters pause for an aperitivo. Neighbors exchange confidants in a campo (square) on their way to market.
