Authentic dining experience in Venice

Gorgeous family restaurant, freshest of food, impeccable service and knowledge of the menu. Beautiful home made breads which keep getting replenished. Wine list divine. Would go back in a heartbeat.

On arrival we were greeted and seated straight away. we were served the most beautiful warm bread and our orders for drinks and food taken. We were recommended to try the grilled squid and prawns for a starter to share and they were lovely. All our meals were beautifully presented and tasted well. Would highly recommend this restaurant for food... More

Excelent service, the pasta is the speciality, I had the spaghetti with lobster and it was amazing. 2 friends had the tourist menu, which was very satisfying and abundant for a good price.

We stumbled upon this restaurant and thought it had an interesting menu. However, whilst the service was pretty efficient the food just wasn't up to the standard of other places we'd eaten at. For instance Bancogiro which is not far from this restaurant. The prices are relatively high and the food was fairly bland. It wasn't terrible but definitely there... More

The food is good (average), the portions are very small and the price is almost double of similar restaurants. I would not come back again.

We chose this restaurant by recommendation of our hostess. I just can say it wasn't anything special, not responding for the price. The service is average and they charge 15% - is too high for the service, additional to the tip of 10%. They sit us outside even nobody was inside siting, but they told us it is only with... More

This is a nice restaurant just a few steps off the Grand Canal in Rialto area. Service and food were both very nice, but felt that it was all a bit overpriced. A full 15 percent service charge was added, I believe this was the only establishment that added a rate that high in my 10 days in Italy. Again,... More

We were most grateful to have been recommended this restaurant in Venice as some of our earlier eating experiences in the city had been disappointing (and expensive). We had dinner here twice as we were so pleased with the food. We enjoyed a lovely grilled vegetable starter on one occasion which was not only delicious but beautifully presented. My sea... More

This restaurant is a solid choice in terms of proximity to the Rialto Bridge, with but has neither particularly remarkable food nor a good value for the price. The one thing that did stand out was the eagerness of Giordano (the owner or manager?) to please us. We wanted to eat early by Venetian standards - they open at 6:30... More

Small, charming restaurant in Venice. We had a wonderful risotto there. It is located right across the Rialto Bridge.

Staying in San Polo

Neighborhood Profile
San Polo
The Rialto Bridge is the most famous sight along the Grand Canal in San Polo, smallest of Venice's six sestieri (districts) and by far the busiest neighborhood. Morning Venetians arrive to peruse the markets for fish, fruit and vegetables, while shops display goods from cheese to wine to desserts. San Silvestro and Rialto Market vaporetto (water taxi) stops add to the steady stream of foot traffic. San Polo is defined by churches including Basilica dei Frari, one of the most important churches sought by art lovers.
