Nice service but moderate food

Lovely location, and a very nice welcome here for lunch. They have a very extensive pizza menus and a good choice of pasta and fish. if you don't want a stomachache like mine after eating a pizza at Ae Oche, avoid to go to this place. the food is very low quality and walnuts on my pizza were old. Poor service, we have to wait more than 40 minutes while watching customers coming after us be served before us.

The separate gluten free menu on display sold us on this place! The pizzas are huge, delicious and exactly what we needed after a day traveling to get here! Same size gf as normal pizza! The drinks were cheap, a €2 charge for sitting in, but understand that is normal. We passed on dessert to take a walk to digest... More

Ate here when we first arrived in Venice and the food was very tasty - caprese salad, cotto pizza and some pasta with meat sauce, all delicious.

Excellent variety of pizzas on offer here to suit all. My own favourite is the Diavola, nice & spicy. I have also tried the schnitzel which is very good.Have been coming to Venice for years now & this is one of our favourite places to eat. Service nice & friendly. Never had to wait to be seated & find staff... More

The restaurant has a lovely location, outside overlooking the Giudecca Canal. We had been recommended to go there because of the variety of pizzas available, and that was correct - they must have had about 80 varieties on offer. The pizzas themselves, however, turned out to be a bit boring - a lot of pastry round the outside and only... More

Location, location, location for this place. It was a lovely sunny Sunday, we had just arrived in Venice and lost our way a bit getting to the Zattere area. So finding this place and sitting right on the waterside was perfect. Our food was tasty if not spectacular, service was busy but friendly and we enjoyed our first lunch in... More

Despite beoing a chain, Ae Oche offers delicious genuine Italian pizza. I travel with a school group to Venice every year, and we always stop at one of the Venice locations to eat some legit Italian pizza. Great selection, staff is friendly mainly, but that does not deter us from going here. The price is not bad either, considering the... More

We found this restaurant completely by accident when wandering around looking for a pizzeria. A large pizza was about 7 euros, and absolutely divine. Huge selection of pizzas freshly made. We also asked for a sambuca after the meal and were expecting a shot, but got a tumbler with about a quadruple measure in it! We thought the bill would... More

Food quite good, very tasty, and fully venitian. Pizza are the specialties, and they look awesome. Service is sympathetic, but not really caring. Wine and desserts are very good as well. Excellent atmosphere, mixed origin of customers. Very good place, prices are not low but acceptable for Venice!

Staying in Dorsoduro / Accademia

Neighborhood Profile
Dorsoduro / Accademia
Artsy is the defining mood of this neighborhood with street artists, students, painters, sculptors, restorers, curators, historians, collectors, heirs and heiresses rubbing elbows. Peggy Guggenheim's collection, now a museum, lures chic locals for evening art aperitifs. Traditionalists and visionaries cocoon in bohemian luxury. La Salute basilica buttresses the neighborhood to the east. Gondolas bob in the morning light. The Accademia Bridge crosses the Grand Canal. A back street doubles as basketball court. Palaces house residents, or like Ca' Foscari a university, or a museum like Ca’ Rezzonico that attracts Venetians for concerts. Dorsoduro reveals its industrial roots too, in buildings converted to house university departments or exhibitions. Campo Santa Margherita bursts with youthful energy from local students. Foot traffic bustles to and from Piazzale Roma and Santa Lucia train station. Evening commuters pause for an aperitivo. Neighbors exchange confidants in a campo (square) on their way to market.
