Lovely location, but..

The restaurant has a lovely location, outside overlooking the Giudecca Canal. We had been recommended to go there because of the variety of pizzas available, and that was correct - they must have had about 80 varieties on offer. Location, location, location for this place. It was a lovely sunny Sunday, we had just arrived in Venice and lost our way a bit getting to the Zattere area. So finding this place and sitting right on the waterside was perfect. Our food was tasty if not spectacular, service was busy but friendly and we enjoyed our first lunch in... More

Despite beoing a chain, Ae Oche offers delicious genuine Italian pizza. I travel with a school group to Venice every year, and we always stop at one of the Venice locations to eat some legit Italian pizza. Great selection, staff is friendly mainly, but that does not deter us from going here. The price is not bad either, considering the... More

We found this restaurant completely by accident when wandering around looking for a pizzeria. A large pizza was about 7 euros, and absolutely divine. Huge selection of pizzas freshly made. We also asked for a sambuca after the meal and were expecting a shot, but got a tumbler with about a quadruple measure in it! We thought the bill would... More

Food quite good, very tasty, and fully venitian. Pizza are the specialties, and they look awesome. Service is sympathetic, but not really caring. Wine and desserts are very good as well. Excellent atmosphere, mixed origin of customers. Very good place, prices are not low but acceptable for Venice!

For a simple meal, Ae Oche is just right. A large menu gives lots of choices. Service is friendly and efficient. We shared a salad, a spinach and mozzarella pizza and half a carafe of excellent house wine. The bill was modest. Not fine dining, but no pretentions.

Ae Oche being The kids' favourite restaurant in Venice, we went here twice in August and were not at all disapointed: the pizza was great as usual, prices still ok, location still super, service still friendly and fast - what more could one want ?

We have eaten many times at Ae Oche, Zattere over the last six years and rate this resturant highly. There are so many resturants to choose from in Venice, but this one offers very good food in a lovely location and is very good value. The outdoor tables are on the waterfront with an excellent view towards the island of... More

I happened to come across this by chance, just wandering the city, and I wanted some GF food. Multuple gluten-free options were on the menu, including one pasta and beer. The salads wete big and very reasonably priced. There is also a location close to the train station. Definitely not the best GF pizza I've had but more than did... More

The place is very cozy, the service is very good as well as the food. Is not an expensive place. Is near the vaporetto station of Zattere. Very good option for dinner!

Staying in Dorsoduro / Accademia

Neighborhood Profile
Dorsoduro / Accademia
Artsy is the defining mood of this neighborhood with street artists, students, painters, sculptors, restorers, curators, historians, collectors, heirs and heiresses rubbing elbows. Peggy Guggenheim's collection, now a museum, lures chic locals for evening art aperitifs. Traditionalists and visionaries cocoon in bohemian luxury. La Salute basilica buttresses the neighborhood to the east. Gondolas bob in the morning light. The Accademia Bridge crosses the Grand Canal. A back street doubles as basketball court. Palaces house residents, or like Ca' Foscari a university, or a museum like Ca’ Rezzonico that attracts Venetians for concerts. Dorsoduro reveals its industrial roots too, in buildings converted to house university departments or exhibitions. Campo Santa Margherita bursts with youthful energy from local students. Foot traffic bustles to and from Piazzale Roma and Santa Lucia train station. Evening commuters pause for an aperitivo. Neighbors exchange confidants in a campo (square) on their way to market.
