Came across this place by accident when lots of other popular choices were busy... that said, the menu options were good, wine list decent too... Only downside was the attitude of the staff! A tad supercilious and as they say in Italy... 'Odioso'. A pity...

The hotel was extremely close to our hotel and offered a set menu. Very reasonably priced (especially for Venice). Mainly stuck to Pasta's but very good.

Osteria Ai Assassini Venice’s Osteria ai Assassini offers diners a unique selection of quality food. Neither the selection, nor the décor is what most Americans would think of as typically Italian. The menu changes daily and entres include typical Venetian dishes often of braised meats, rather than the usual tourist fare. The interior is cozy and rustic. The service is... More

We came to this place for the recommendation of one of travel books. I must say we are very reasonable people. But this place is simply awful. Pasta and bread sticks are packages. Food is short of rubber mediocre pieces of rotten smelly fish. Our family of five did not finish our plates. It was simply not good. When we... More

We came here on the recommendation of a local for its seafood. However when we came we were told only Thursday and Friday is there seafood. My partner had the pasta and meatballs which was okay. the waiter looked affronted when asked for a second spoon of parmesan and said thats another euro. He was rather rude. I noticed them... More

I am at a loss to understand why people are giving this restaurant 4 and 5 star reviews. Our whole experience was unpleasant , with a lot of the food being well below parr and the service terrible. One of our party ordered soup while the rest of us ordered main courses- everything came together. This would not have been... More

to find it! Stumbled into this little restaurant by chance in a little Calle off main tourist routes. What a gem! Good honest food, great service, really nice atmosphere. Don't worry about the Italian menu, they will happily translate for you. Highly recommended.

We happened upon this restaurant on our last night in Venice. It is away from the touristy areas and could not have been a more perfect way to end our stay in Venice. It was a beautiful night, perfect to eat outside. We followed the owner's suggestions for dinner and we were very happy with his "favorites." Perfect!

There were no assassins in evidence on the night that my wife and I, and two Italian friends, ate at this restaurant, so we enjoyed an uneventful and tasty meal. We ordered a half carafe each of white and red wine, and studied the menu for the evening. (Apparently, the menu changes each day with a focus on different kinds... More

We had been put off by some poor reviews on trip advisor, but when we followed a recommendation for another restaurant were disappointed there. As our guide book recommended the Assassini we thought we'd go with their recommendation and found it much better. The service was pretty good and helpful and the food enjoyable. The charcuterie and Parma Ham were some... More
