We came to this place for the recommendation of one of travel books. I must say we are very reasonable people. But this place is simply awful. Pasta and bread sticks are packages. Food is short of rubber mediocre pieces of rotten smelly fish. Our family of five did not finish our plates. It was simply not good. When we... More

We came here on the recommendation of a local for its seafood. However when we came we were told only Thursday and Friday is there seafood. My partner had the pasta and meatballs which was okay. the waiter looked affronted when asked for a second spoon of parmesan and said thats another euro. He was rather rude. I noticed them... More

I am at a loss to understand why people are giving this restaurant 4 and 5 star reviews. Our whole experience was unpleasant , with a lot of the food being well below parr and the service terrible. One of our party ordered soup while the rest of us ordered main courses- everything came together. This would not have been... More

to find it! Stumbled into this little restaurant by chance in a little Calle off main tourist routes. What a gem! Good honest food, great service, really nice atmosphere. Don't worry about the Italian menu, they will happily translate for you. Highly recommended.

We happened upon this restaurant on our last night in Venice. It is away from the touristy areas and could not have been a more perfect way to end our stay in Venice. It was a beautiful night, perfect to eat outside. We followed the owner's suggestions for dinner and we were very happy with his "favorites." Perfect!

There were no assassins in evidence on the night that my wife and I, and two Italian friends, ate at this restaurant, so we enjoyed an uneventful and tasty meal. We ordered a half carafe each of white and red wine, and studied the menu for the evening. (Apparently, the menu changes each day with a focus on different kinds... More

We had been put off by some poor reviews on trip advisor, but when we followed a recommendation for another restaurant were disappointed there. As our guide book recommended the Assassini we thought we'd go with their recommendation and found it much better. The service was pretty good and helpful and the food enjoyable. The charcuterie and Parma Ham were some... More

We visited this place by chance whilst looking for another restaurant that we had read about. The service was a little bit abrupt, but the restaurant was busy so i can understand why. We ordered mozzarrella with basil and tomatoes along with a huge plate of salami for starters, which was delicious. We then had meatballs. What turned up on... More

This place was recommended in our guidebook and we decided to find it as we were near San Marco square at lunchtime on our last day and wanted a final meal of proper non touristy food. We were actually after some cicchetti and spotted the glass fronted counter just inside the door. The waiter seated us and bought us some... More

After the day's walking we wanted somewhere not too far away - the hotel concierge recommended Ai Assassini and made a reservation for dinner. It is down a very quiet cul-de-sac off Rio Verona near La Fenice Theatre. We arrived at 7; were the first in and the staff weren't entirely ready. However we were brought free water and the... More
