We ended up getting pretty hungry while walking around a touristy area of Venice and so decided we'd just grab a bite in an unplanned, quick and cheap place. This restaurant was off the main street in a little alley on a corner and the food was excellent. The service was even better, the place is family owned and our... More

We booked a table here based on reviews, very disappointed in food and service. We waited at open door for someone to acknowledge us..it seemed like a game to the wait staff. The meatballs were recommended, would not order them again. We had a pasta dish that was equally forgettable, as i can't remember what it was. It was expensive... More

Getting in-the-know of what denizens of Venice know is a plus. They are fiercely loyal to their local bacaro (wine bar), where small plates can be a nibble before a meal or dinner itself. This joint does two kinds of meatballs, both of them delicious and equally well prepared squid with potatoes and a whole grilled seppie. We were advised to... More

I had a delicious vongole spaghetti here, Ive had a fair share of vongole pasta before and this was a really good one. Though portion was small, I couldve easily had another one (I know I couldve had a secondi..). Cant vouch for anything else, but its a very inexpensive and nice place for a meal.

Nothing complicated, small but excellent menu where every dish is done well! A must try as also recommended by Timeout. Went back for a 2nd time, no frills or fanciful presentation, simply good food!

This is really a hidden gem, the cichetti were really interesting and atmosphere was really buzzing with both locals and tourists alike. Def grab a couple ombres and munch away by the bar standing around and taking in the local bar culture. Was a bit tough to get service, as they were VERY busy, but once the waiter got to... More

This small restaurant is found in an Alley in the sestiere Cannaregio not far from Canal Grande and the Rialto bridge. We had two different pasta dishes and both were just outstanding in taste. The service was very good as well!

We were staying in the Cannaregio area and were recommended this restaurant by the owner of our hotel, who said it was her favourite place to eat in Venice. We hadn't booked so just took a chance of turning up around 9pm, and were lucky enough to get the only free table straight away! We had a mixed seafood starter... More

To get a meal you must book, if you forget just try the meatballs and Ombre plus other chicetti and book for the next night. Simple fare, fantastic pastas and local wines. Not many tables so a little cramped but well worth the effort to find the restuarant just off the main tourist trails.

There are much better restaurants in venice to eat than this. Surprisingly there was a queue when we arrived, we had high expectations because of this however once we sat down and heard that everyone around us was a tourist, we knew that was not a good sign. The cicchetti was average - meatballs were the nicest and the peas... More
