This is not strictly a veggie restaurant but, as its a speciality, go for the veggie options as they were excellent. If you book, ask for a table outside as they are in the shade, right next to a canal, and the walkway is wide enough that you can enjoy eating outside without feeling you are sitting in the middle... La Zucca is one of the best vegetarian restaurants. And the patio dining on the canal made it that much more special. You have to get the pumpkin soufflé - I've never had something so good.

Although not a specifically vegi restaurant, La Zucca has many great innovative vegetarian dishes on the menu. The setting is lovely. An outside seat is right beside a canal. Staff were friendly and knowledgeable. Be sure to book , as often booked out. Delicious and good value.

I had read about this restaurant before leaving UK so when we went past it by chance I stopped to check the menu which I was pleased to see was only in Italian. After a short time I checked with the others and straightaway made a booking for dinner that evening. It is not a big restaurant and from what... More

After a visit to the museum of natural history nearby, we decided to eat a lunch here. We got a table outside and ate a dish of pasta with pesto sauce and lasagna with mushrooms. Food was excellent and nicely presented. It was a bit strange, that the menu was only in Italian. Waitresses here spoke English (and French) though,... More

La Zucca, Venice. €88 for three courses each incl wine. From our hotel we got off the Vapporetta at S.Stae stop and then we had a three or four minute walk to the restaurant, which is situated beside a small canal. This place was recommended by the hotel, after I had overheard another guest trying to make a booking the... More

Thoroughly enjoyed this restaurant. Booked on advance to secure a table outside. Service was slow to start, but that seemed to be a staffing issue for the amount of diners. Meals ordered did not look the most appetising, however the taste was delicious! Excellent location next to the canal, lovely to sit, relax and watch the world go by whilst... More

Finally an alternative to all those interchangeable restaurants with the interchangeable menus you find all over Venice! The wallpaper city guide recommended it as one of the few restaurants that values vegetables at least as much as fish and meat - and we were in for a treat! We had different dishes and almost all of them were very tasty,... More

The food here is undoubtably great but the problem is that the menu is very short and does not delineate between courses so it is very difficult to differentiate between antipasta, primo, secundo and main courses which in our case (shame on us for not understanding) meant that we over ordered - but it was delicious but we could not... We reserved a table week before our Venice trip. This restaurant was recommended by an Italy travel guide website. Indeed, it is a good place to go. The menu is in Italian language, the waiter explained the menu for us in English. It would be great if they prepared their menu in English as there are many foreigners visiting their... More
