Zucca Amazing!

Very small restaurant, you need to make a reservation if you want to eat here. We always reserve on our first day (its one of the first things we do after dropping off luggage). The pasta with blue cheese and pistachio is to die for. Seafood excellent as well.

We had this place recommend to us before we went. The couple raved about it and said they visited every time they went to Venice, so we must try it too. We were also advised to book in advance as it's only small and gets busy quickly. We never bothered booking, just chanced our luck and turned up. As with... More

For all the places to go in Venice, this you can skip, unless you can possibly nab a table outside and don't mind very slow, inattentive service. The food is great, but there is great food all over with better ambience than the interior of la Zucca.

We loved our lunch here. Yummy, healthy and veggie filled dishes were a perfect pick me up amidst a busy day in Venice. The pumpkin flan is incredible--unlike any dish I've tasted before. We loved every plate that was put in front of us! Definitely must visit. Make a reservation, as I tried to dine here on a previous visit... More

Small, usually fully booked, place with delicious and creatively made dishes. We loved the warm pumpkin dish (forgot the name). Helpful and relaxed service.

This little restaurant is outstanding! We read about it in our guide books and booked well in advance. We sat outside on a warm evening, overlooking a small bridge. The food was creative and wonderfully different. The staff was friendly and helpful. Chicken in dill-yoghurt, pumpkin flan, tagliatelle with pesto...I could go on. A find. Grazie Mille La Zucca!

We stayed near here and saw great reviews so we gave it a try on our last night in Venice. It was best meal here! I had pasta with red sauce and ricotta and was fantastic along with a stellar side of broccoli with red pepper flakes and garlic. Husband had beef stew with potatoes which was excellent. Very tender... More

Our friend took us here while we were in Venice. The pumpkin flan was amazing. The duck was delicious. Tip: get a caraf of the house red. It was absolutely delicious!! Reservation a must!

We tried this little tucked away place after a visit to Vianello Mauro's Glass blowing studio & we were simply blow away. The menu changes everyday according to what the chef finds is the freshest at the mornings markets. Everything is beautifully fresh, cooked to perfection & the service was extremely polite, helpful & efficient. We had the tagliatelle one... More

I didn't come across many restaurant options in Venice for gluten free and vegetarian dining, so I was delighted to find this restaurant. You need to book as it is popular (especially if you want to sit outside) and gets filled up fast. The menu is very vegetable-centric, but not entirely vegetarian and there are still many meat dishes, which... More

Staying in San Polo

Neighborhood Profile
San Polo
The Rialto Bridge is the most famous sight along the Grand Canal in San Polo, smallest of Venice's six sestieri (districts) and by far the busiest neighborhood. Morning Venetians arrive to peruse the markets for fish, fruit and vegetables, while shops display goods from cheese to wine to desserts. San Silvestro and Rialto Market vaporetto (water taxi) stops add to the steady stream of foot traffic. San Polo is defined by churches including Basilica dei Frari, one of the most important churches sought by art lovers.
