30th Anniversary dinner

Fantastic meal. Good choices and good wine recommendation. Booking essential. Menu only in Italian but don't be put off by this - staff very helpful and able to translate and advise.

Fresh, tasty, helpful service and good value for money - you couldn't ask for more. A real gem. Any visit to Venice should include a stop here ...

This was my second visit to La Zucca and it didn't disappoint. The food was absolutely delicious and the staff were friendly and helpful. We lingered over a late dinner (our reservation was for 9.30pm) and loved every dish we selected (for three, we each chose a main course each and shared three side dishes). I'm a vegetarian and this... More

This is a lovely small restaurant near a canal in a quiet part of Venice. It has great atmosphere and the waitresses also speak French and English but the food is rather dry, bland. We had spaghetti dishes and also fish dishes. The house white wine was pretty bitter and there is limited selection of wines by the bottle. The food... More

Very good dining experience away from the tourist area. I would suggest making a reservation since this is a popular restaurant. Nothing stood out from our meal, but there were definitely fresh flavors and its several steps up from your basic Italian cuisine. After 3 weeks in Italy, this was a great find to switch it up from your basic... More

Eclectic Californian-cuisine-like. Super friendly staff, we had no reservation but they fit us and our messy son in. Very economical too.

Ate here in Summer 2014, bit of a late review! The meal my fiancé and I had was absolutely fantastic. We hadn't booked and so were lucky there was space for us when we walked past. What an absolute gem to find. I have been vegetarian for over 10 years and this was one of the yummiest pasts meals I... More

Absolutely loved our dinner at La Zucca. We got a table outside and had a wonderful view of the nearby bridge over a canal and the passing crowds. The best tip I have is make a booking no matter what day you are trying to have a meal there!!! They are fully booked basically every day but I was able... More

Staying in San Polo

Neighborhood Profile
San Polo
The Rialto Bridge is the most famous sight along the Grand Canal in San Polo, smallest of Venice's six sestieri (districts) and by far the busiest neighborhood. Morning Venetians arrive to peruse the markets for fish, fruit and vegetables, while shops display goods from cheese to wine to desserts. San Silvestro and Rialto Market vaporetto (water taxi) stops add to the steady stream of foot traffic. San Polo is defined by churches including Basilica dei Frari, one of the most important churches sought by art lovers.
