Small and perfectly formed with delicious vegetarian options

La Zucca is a small, off the beaten path, welcome breath of foodie focus in a sea of horrific tourist trap offerings. Everything we ordered (meat and vegetarian) was perfectly cooked and flavoursome. The offerings were all very different to your usual 'pizza/pasta' Italians. House wine/prosecco is... read more

My wife and i were in venice for 3 days and we ate here most of the time. When you find a great place why deviate? We love food and travel the world looking for great places. From Kangaroo meat in Cambodia to incredible hummus in Tangiers. la Zucca is incredible. Beginning with their wonderful location to their service to... More

Make reservations or even go for lunch (what we did). Food was out of this world. Excellent vegetable and pasta dishes. Try the asparagus cake... Never thought of doing that with asparagus, but it was amazing. And the zucchini lasagna was out of this world... Melt in your mouth. Staff was tremendous, friendly and fast. Would go back there many... More

This restaurant is very popular and busy. Even for lunch you are advised to get a reservation. We lucked out and were seated quickly. Our waitress was very nice, attentive, and helpful in deciphering the menu. I had the vegetarian lasagna which I could not finish because it was so rich. My lunch companion had 2 vegetarian dishes which he... More

We were recommended this restaurant by a local friend. We didn't make reservations and it so happened that they were fully booked on the day we tried to eat there. I am NOT disappointed because they were fully booked but I am very pissed at the way they told me it was fully booked. We went very early to see... More

Our family made a reservation in advance to eat at this very traditional and cozy place. The presentation of food was complimented by its texture and full flavor! A must visit place, undoubtedly!

We just stumbled across this restaurant when wandering through the alleyways of Venice. This is wonderful vegetarian friendly restaurant with great food and a beautiful location. Highly recommended.

Let's face it, it is quite difficult to find a restaurant that caters for vegetarians in Venice. La Zucca offers some wonderful, tasty options for vegetarians and non-vegetarians. The staff is very friendly and it has a great cozy atmosphere.

This little osteria is at a cosy street in Venice with just few tables, reservation is required not to miss the chance to eat there. English menu is not available but staff is very helpful & nice. The food is not only vegetarian, meat/fish choices are also on the menu. "Lasagne con zucchine e mandorle" was very creative and delicious!... More

It's surprising that La Zucca claims to be a vegetarian restaurant. Although not vegetarian, I don't eat veal or rabbit and I was surprised to see both on the menu (which wasn't available in English). The food was okay, not great. Best dish was a lasagna with several different vegetables, which was tasty but a bit heavy. All in all,... More

Staying in San Polo

Neighborhood Profile
San Polo
The Rialto Bridge is the most famous sight along the Grand Canal in San Polo, smallest of Venice's six sestieri (districts) and by far the busiest neighborhood. Morning Venetians arrive to peruse the markets for fish, fruit and vegetables, while shops display goods from cheese to wine to desserts. San Silvestro and Rialto Market vaporetto (water taxi) stops add to the steady stream of foot traffic. San Polo is defined by churches including Basilica dei Frari, one of the most important churches sought by art lovers.
