Yummy!!!!

A great varied menu for all including vegetarians, the vegetable lasagna was the best I have ever tasted. Wine selection was very good and the staff took the time to go over the whole menu that was only in Italian. Menu changes daily and there was no fish selection when we were there. I visited La Zucca with 5 friends during a long weekend in Venice. We booked in advance and had the pleasure of a table in its own room with doors that opened onto the canal. The service from the friendly staff was excellent, while the food easily matched this by offering a broad choice of tasty and beautifully presented plates.... More

I read a lot of great reviews on this place online and in books. We were disappointed! We have been in several countries in Europe in the last month, and the waitress was the worst, uncaring, not helpful or the least bit happy to have our business as with the 3 tables along side us. We knew it would be... More

Great staff, delicious food and great atmosphere. We were a group of seven and had a lovely evening. It was a bit difficult without English menus bit that was part the fun. The cold pork was a bit odd but everything else was great. Highly recommend the potato/cheese side.

Very good flavours. The Menu was varied and in my opinion very good value for money as was the wine list. With so many English speakers in the restaurant why not have a translated menu as well ?

Since our last visit 8 years ago, La Zucca remain the best vegetarian restaurant in Venice. we are thankful that this time we could enjoy three times, the best organic food, plates with surprising tasty combinations of ingredients, vegetables and spices; we appreciate the very friendly service; make sure to make reservations in time

Great first night welcome in Venice. Great with our children too. Off the beaten track and so felt more local (as much as that might be possible in Venice). Really friendly and helpful with an interesting menu too.

Not your average Venetian menu. It's worth booking at this lovely restaurant as it can get busy. An Imaginative menu of fresh food, this is well worth a visit for a really good meal. Not the cheapest but not ridiculously expensive. Sit outside in spring by the canal and watch Venetians go about their daily business while you eat.

Must eat here. Pasta is amazingly fresh, light and delicious. Serious when I say best lasagna EVER. Great ambience, especially outside, on a corner of a canal. Menu only in Italian, but friendly staff will translate all of it. Make sure to book ahead.

I have been here before and was so taken with the place last time that I booked it for our first meal on my return trip to Venice. It was even better than the previous visit. The food was, as expected, delicious, beautifully prepared and a welcome change from typical Venetian menus that are dominated by sea food. The ambience... More

Staying in San Polo

Neighborhood Profile
San Polo
The Rialto Bridge is the most famous sight along the Grand Canal in San Polo, smallest of Venice's six sestieri (districts) and by far the busiest neighborhood. Morning Venetians arrive to peruse the markets for fish, fruit and vegetables, while shops display goods from cheese to wine to desserts. San Silvestro and Rialto Market vaporetto (water taxi) stops add to the steady stream of foot traffic. San Polo is defined by churches including Basilica dei Frari, one of the most important churches sought by art lovers.
