One of the most ancient Venetian osterie, the Cantina Do Spade is only a few steps away from the Rialto Bridge. This bacaro offers a variety of cicheti: small typically Venetian snacks like fried squid rings, meatballs, mozzarelle in carrozza, baccala mantecato, spienza (beef spleen), nerveti (pressed beef cartilage seasoned with onions), etc. Here our friendly staff and atmosphere will make you feel at home, but with the opportunity to taste fine and fresh food.

A must if you go to Venice.

Typical local restaurant with a choice either you can gave a normal lunch or dinner (starters, pasta, main course sesert) all excellent and fresh or cicchetti, a tapas like choice. This Osteria is a classic Venetian "Bacaro" which specializes in local wine and little "stabs" of food. These are bites of local specialties. We had fresh fried bacala mantecato and it was fesh and delicious!

Risotto de pescado increible a un precio imbatible. Fuimos gracias a una recomendación de una Veneciana y francamente no dudaría en recomendárselo a nadie. El mejor sitio para comer que probé en Venecia. Really nice risotto di pesce (seafood risotto) at an unbeatable price. Recommended by a girl from Venecia, I wouldn't doubt to recommend it to anyone. The best... More

There is a pretty consistent report by other reviewers which I cannot add too much more. You find this place with either a goal or by accident as it is tucked away in the rabbit warren of alleys in Venice. Well worth the effort. Seafood is the best choice in Venice & this place is tops on price and flavor.... More

Do Spade is tucked away in a small alley within two minutes of the Rialto Market. However it's far enough away for this to be reflected in the prices. A pretty tiny hole in the wall place with a bar displaying today's cichetti and a back room for dining too. Menu available if you want something more substantial. Wine is... More

Very nice, not just good, food. Mostly seafood, good value for money (€75 for 3 people, incl. 1l of house wine and 2x bottles if water). Lovely low key atmosphere - loved it and would go back immediately.

Took our kids here for a true authentic chichetti (tapas style) experience. Reasonable prices, fun atmostphere - lots of college students. Great food and a large variety. Lots of regulars. Map quest to find it - not easy but worth it!

We were seated in the back room which lacked the same vibrant atmosphere as the front. Starter tapas style dishes were nice. The scampi spaghetti with spicy sauce had a nice flavour but the scampi were not fresh and overcooked. Has to ask several times for service.

With the above, how can you go wrong? The man we rented our apartment from recommened this place, and I also read about it in Rick Steves' book. We showed up on one night, and the place was packed, and reservations only, so we made a reservation for the following day. Unfortunately we were dumped on by heavy rain while... More
