Simple menu, but excellent food

Went for lunch. My first course - tagliatelle al ragu was the best example of this dish I have ever tasted. Everything that followed was first rate, and there were a couple of decent locally brewed beers to accompany the meal. Service was prompt and attentive and the bill was most reasonable. The service was above and beyond, as although I was with a local who translated some of the menu items, the owner came to the table and translated the ENTIRE menu into english so that I would be able to make an informed decision. The food is exellent, from the antipasto (I recommend the "nido de polenta con porcini"!), to... More

We found it by chance, and we were surprised ! Everything was great! Excellent food!!! Extraordinary housewine !!! Also the treatment from the owner with his explanations about the history of Padua and the restaurant made it complete! A place to be visited, and I'll be back for sure!!!

We had opportunity on having a relaxed business dinner with colleagues at Al Fungo. The staff (family) was very attentive an informatively explained all the dishes in the daily menu to us in English. Awesome mom cooked, son and father served. Very lovely food. Especially horse beef was deliciously prepared. Also the fungi was perfetto.

The person at the front desk recommended Al Fungo and it was great. The restaurant is located on a quiet street off the main avenue. We walked in to a very... More

Very delicious cooking by mamma, with father and son front of house. If you like fungi, it's the place to go.

The food was very tasty(we tried three types of pasta and we liked all of them, also the desserts were awesome). As for the service, the owners were very friendly and always smiling. They explained everything on the menu and recommended some courses which... More

Looking at this restaurant from outside, you will not beat on it nor you could imagine how nice it is to have a dinner there. I have been working here in Padova for 4 months now, and had no idea, even if very often have walked in front of it. This night the inspiration to test it, and the surprise... More
