Nice food but slow service

We have enjoyed good food here, nice Parmesan risotto n spaghetti. Mr waiter was nice and friendly but please get prepared to spend long time there as we have to wait to be served, make order & get dishes on table (except check bill)

Sunday 31st May and it was dinner at Vecchio Falconiere in Padova. Great food, nice surroundings, but the service was shocking. Fifteen minutes for a drink, twenty minutes before menu selection was ordered. And almost forty minutes wait before dinner was served.

A very short stay, we entered the restaurant, empty, at 8 in the evening, Saturday night - don't worry dear (I said to my wife) the reviews are great - QUESTION IS BY WHOM? The single biggest let down since using TA. 3 EUR per head Coperto, the Italian Restaurant Tax (a quick made buck by the owners). 12 EUR... More

We asked the owner for a recommendation and we received his special - spiced sausage and tartare for starter and cuts of excellent beef cooked on hot plates at our table. Excellent food quality - and a wee bit of a performance as well.

I can only repeat what many others have said. Go in and try the speciality, of which there are many pictures here. Be led by the staff Its quite an experience.

Try to ask waiter about the menu. Ask him about the ingredients, so, you will know exactly what are you eating. It's important, because some meals are strange for foreigners. But, taste is always fantastic. A new experience out of home.

The owner helped choose a meal that was perfect for a vegetarian. He suggested the asparagus risotto (served in a hollowed Parmesan bowl) and then grilled vegetables. My husband loves meat so he was very happy with his choices. The bill was reasonable, the wine excellent, the staff was professional and helpful..the owner is a joy.

The meat is amazing, so fresh that they come and show you it before ordering to wet your appetite. The service is poor and the owner can be quite abrupt but if you're after a melt in your mouth Fiorentina this is the right place!

We have visited this restaurant many times over the years. Our daughter and husband went there on their honeymoon too. The owner was so kind to them, he let her cook a few meals!
