Magic for meat

We have been here before and returned because my wife insisted. This restaurant is well known for its speciality meat dishes, particularly Tuscan fillet steak. The proprietor plays a major role in the preparation and cooking of the meat and attends every table in turn. There is a menu but most come... read more

We accidently stumbled upon this restaurant in Padova while travelling to Umbria. Didn't know what to expect when we walked in (as it was empty around 6PM) and we walked out thinking how lucky we were to get a table. There are no English menus and only one person spoke English. He brought us a plate full of different pastas... More

We were attracted by the many great reviews on Tripadvisor, and the beautiful terrace, but we were quite dissapointed. It's a very touristy restaurant, with load of people taking pictures all the time, and saying 'waw' when the chef is baking some meat again outside - which is purely show cooking: he could also bake the slices in the kitchen.... A small restaurant, when seen from the street. But it has a long, small and shady garden. Very nice in summer time. Generous and helpful patron, top quality pasta. Vegetables rather expensive, though, as usual in Italy. We had a great lunch here, before visiting the church of St Antony 'Il Santo'. Restaurant is easy to reach by tram (ferm.... More

Pros: Very nice location, not very noisy...close to a running water, cozy. The owner speaks very good english and his food is very very good. I highly recommend it. Cons: Lack of english menu or english speaking waitresses. Could use some mist sprinklers because it gets very hot and moist. Some music would be nice on the terace.

Be prepared for a very busy place where everybody is in a hurry. Only one person speaks English (the owner, I think), but he is busy serving the speciality of the house, which is beef. We had pasta (in fact we wanted to have some antipasti as well, but we were shown a selection of pastas from which we each... More

Restaurant has a large interior section as well as an exterior area with a terrace and a balcony overlooking the canal. We had not made a reservation but nevertheless were shown to a table on the balcony with the canal below us. This was a great outlook but the downside, which we were to experience later, was that you were... More

really nice location and set up in the center of Padova, on Via Umberto. We got a table on the balcony with flowers over head, and it was great drinking good local wine while surrounded by locals having lunch and chatting. The risotto is excellent, but then we noticed what the locals are ordering. What you really want to do... More
