We had an excellent dinner in this very nice restaurant and enjoyed the, quality, the presentation of the plates and the very friendly service. Don't miss the Brunello at an incredible price. Not easy to find but worthwile to look for.. Reservation recommanded.

Carlo and Helen are the married Chef/maitre'd partners who run the casual, inventive, slightly offbeat La Finestra in Padua. The menu is Carlo's creation and offer his take on Italian standards--no basic bolognese here. While the menu is small, it seems to be updated often and the execution is quite good. Helen is friendly without being overbearing, Carlo is very... More

What a pleasure to go to a restaurant where you feel so welcomed. You are made to feel like you are guests at someone's home. The food was fantastic and reasonable. Everything was perfect.

As entering La Finestra the mouth watering smell of Truffles came. So try the gnocchi with pumpkin and Truffles. The owner is a really nice and communicative lady. When I asked for peperoncino she first refused, explaining that it will kill the smell of truffles. As a gourmet lover I agreed, but to my surprise she brought me the peperoncino... More

Though close to the center of things, the restaurant is enough off the beaten path to not be rammed by college students and visitors to the city. Discovered thanks to local advice from a colleague who lives in Padova, we've been here twice, and each time had a superb meal. Family owned, and run with care and attention. The chef... More

The family that owns this restaurant does everything to make sure their guests receive the best possible experience. It is a small, intimate venue where guests wear dressy attire. We have been to Padua three times, dining here each time. We have always had an excellent meal, truly local, unlike so many of the touristic restaurants in Padua. The wine/food... More

La Finestra Via dei Tadi 15 Padova 049 650313 On an arcaded street, one block from the Duomo is La Finestra. This above average Italian restaurant has a small menu , but what it does it does well. Service is friendly and the waitress has some English. I had the Orecchiette with shrimps, cherry tomatoes and pesto of arugula. Orecchiette,... More

This restaurant was recommended by a concierge at our hotel but we were very disappointed. There was only one other couple in the restaurant, which is a husband and wife team. We both ordered scallop ceviche as an entrée which turned out to be a mixture of soggy fennel which appeared to have been soaked in sugar and vinegar and... More

We had been at Pisa and Firenze, but the best meal was at La Finestra in Padova. It is in a side street behind the Duomo. The food was excellent. We had some good wine, and the service superb. Avoid touristic restaurants, and look for restaurants with locals in it.
