This restaurant was recommended by a concierge at our hotel but we were very disappointed. There was only one other couple in the restaurant, which is a husband and wife team. We both ordered scallop ceviche as an entrée which turned out to be a mixture of soggy fennel which appeared to have been soaked in sugar and vinegar and... More

We had been at Pisa and Firenze, but the best meal was at La Finestra in Padova. It is in a side street behind the Duomo. The food was excellent. We had some good wine, and the service superb. Avoid touristic restaurants, and look for restaurants with locals in it.

After spending a nice afternoon strolling the streets of Padova , what a better way to end the day than a relaxed dinner in a good restaurant? And indeed La Finestra was a great choice. We arrived very early on a weekday which meant we had the restaurant to ourselves and even had the chance to meet Carlo -the chef-... More

Returning to a restaurant that you have fond memories of can be a disappointing proposition. On a previous trip to Padova, my wife and I had an amazing meal compliments of Chef Carlo. On our return trip to Padova, we decided to see if our previous experience could be duplicated. What followed was another amazing culinary experience! Helene provided excellent... More

I dare you to try it, Pink peppercorn creme brûlée. La Finestra is a typically decorated Italian restaurant situated on one of the many beautiful streets I'm historic Padova just around the corner from the duomo. The restaurant owners Carlo and Helen on pretty hands on which makes the entire experience just that little bit nicer. Lots of seafood dishes,... More

I had lunch at La Finestra on October 12 and was overjoyed with the experience. I had come to Padua only for the day (quick tour of Markets, Basilica and Scrovegni) and stopped for lunch. The food was traditional to area but with modern twists, all of which enhanced the wonderful basics in a manner which improved them. I especially... More

Have to agree, good value and very friendly. We booked for a Saturday night. Just as well, they were turning away people without bookings. Very nice prosecco to start with, then we both had the scallop and mint risotto. Have never seen that before but it was different, unique and absolutely delicious, don't miss it! Only complaint - if it... More

The chef and owner is a friendly and engaging bloke who has brought a bit of creative thought to the local cuisine. The food was very good and well presented and the wine list covers this and other regions well. A very nice prosecco can be had here. Good value and very friendly.

We have been dining here over the last year and a half. Each time we have had a wonderful meal. The staff and owners are very friendly and helpful. We especially enjoy the duck, rack of lamb and risotto! Don't miss an opportunity to try this venue.

I recently enjoyed a fabulous meal with friends at La Finestra in Padova. La Finestra is not easy to find, situated behind the Duomo; but once you do find the restaurant, you won't be disappointed. The locale is warmly decorated and makes for a relaxing dining experience. La Finestra, which translates into The Window, in English, features original art, framed... More
