The food is really good, excellent taste, abundant portions and well presented plates. But after walking around and getting out of restaurants because they treat you really bad, we found this charming place where the personal was truly friendly. Sonia was super helpful, she even gave us some recommendations for places to go. The place is like eating at nonna's... More

Hungry after a day of sightseeing, we chose Trattoria Aldente based on a recommendation by our bed and breakfast host. The location is very nice and the specials on the chalk board based on fresh 'funghi porcini' sounded appetising, so be bolted in! First off the ambience is nice warm and welcoming, prices very reasonable and the service remained very... More

The restaurant is in a pedestrian zone. It has a really small terrace, but even in hot weather, the back room - a former cellar - is the better choice. It's cool and more spacious. It is also lined with interesting bottles. Owner and staff are welcoming, accessible and friendly, creating a family restaurant atmosphere. The menu is concentrated on... More

Lovely food and a really charming interior. Portions not quite enough for my husband. The waiter speaks perfect english but is a bit over the top.

Despite the fact that we arrived very late in the evening the service was very accomodating. The food was very good and the ambiance very cosy. BRAVO ! Do not hesitate !

On an impulse my wife and I decided to try this restaurant, what a find. We were shown to the rear cellar which had a lovely atmosphere. I have never seen so many bottles of wine on display. I started with Asparagus followed by Gnocchi with clams, delicious. My wife has veal with an Artichoke sauce, wonderful. Thoroughly recommended

We spent one night in Aosta and were in search of good food and wine in the right atmosphere and we found it at Aldente. The staff were very kind and helpful. The woman who decanted our wine made it into an art - wonderful! The portions are generous, the food local and the atmosphere was warm, welcoming and romantic.

Wish all restaurants that call themselves "trattoria" were this authentic and homely. A great choice of menus (one featuring pumpkin in every course, one with local Val d'Aosta specialities) and an extensive à la carte choice. All prices were very reasonable. The wine selection is not huge but the local pinot noir that we tried was excellent value for money.... More
