The resturant seemed to be very nice, with outside tables along a tiny, typical street with a charming atmoshere. The menu was based on typical dishes with beers' suggestions, and a very intriguing week-menu. Unfortunatly the service was pretty rude and unpleasant, and the food turned out to be a bit pretentious (the main course was flavourless despite its nice... More

We take Rick Steve's suggestions frequently and he was right on!! We ate inside and sat in a nice cozy section with only about eight tables. Seating outside was full. This seems to be a local hangout and the restaurant has been at this spot for over 800 years. Our meals were delicious, beef goulash with dumplings for my hubby... More

We found this place full of people and decided to give it a try. I ordered the gulasch and my partner ordered the typical tirolese plate of speck, cheese and tirolese sausage. The gulasch arrived cold plus there were 3 pieces of meat and that was it!!! Very disappointed! The lady behind the bar was extremely rude when my partner... More

This micro brewery is in the pedestrianised area of Bolzano and is very easy to find. The traditional food is excellent and the beer just as good. We had a tasty feast with friends and enjoyed every minute

This place was recommended in our travel brochure but service was bad along a waiter who was dishonest with our bill. They have a bread charge that we didn't know about and charged us double then the waiter claimed we never paid it and refused to reimburse us for the charge. Anyway had to go to management and it was... More

OK, the food was good. The beer was good. The service was good. It was right around the corner from our hotel, so that was good as well.

Very good German style beers. Food was average and portions were shockingly small by Italian standards. I actually left here hungry. Nice patio.

We lunched at Hopfen on two occasions, in order to sample their delicious home brewed beer. This a bustling place, and it is charming to sit outside and watch the world go by whilst drinking great beer and enjoying their home cooked food. We had salads and also local specialities, all of which were lovely. Not the cheapest place in... More

Most of reviews I read on TA are spot on. Well not this one. We were looking for a simple place to eat other then the usual places I go to when in town. Beer was fantastic and that was about all. Food was average at best. My wife's dish was out within 5 min and it tasted like it.... More

Nice place, comfortable and easy going. You feel familiar from the beginning. Very good service, very good typical food from south tyrol. homemade beer , excellent, one liter will not be enough, so order more! We had risotto with mushrooms and knodell with dark beer. Must try the "birramisù", which is a tiramisù with beer!
