Beer, pork and wurst in Italy!

Some authentic Tyrolean food and good home-brewed beer. The combo plate was great and more generous than the also good Hopfen & Co.

We returned to Bozen after many years (we used to live there) and Batzenhausl was one of our favorite spots, so of course we went there for our first lunch in town. Well, it was a bit disappointing. The "tagliere dell'oste" is very poor (four slices of salami, four slices of bresaola, a thick slice of speck...) for the price... More

Bolzano has a pretty big choice of restaurants - and a variety of cuisines - and this place sort of reminded me of a brewery restaurant that you'd find in the U.S. It probably is favored more by a younger crowd as it was busy and I'd say the average age of the patrons was probably 30ish. It took forever... More

Batzen Häusl (Cà de Bezzi in Italian), while serving home-brewed beer and excellent food, feels nothing like a beer hall or beer garden. The inside looks and feels like a trendy eatery (with shiny brewing vats in the background), while the outside feels like a backyard patio. Service was good, food was excellent, and the home-brewed Batzener Beer was first... More

A great place to savor the local cuisine. Pork products take center stage here, the stinko (pork shank), is particularly delicious. The restaurant also brews its own beer.

What a hidden gem, a true beer garden in the middle of Balzona. The atmosphere was genuine, the food really 'german' good and the beer really good. When you are tired of pasta and pizza, this place is a must

The decision to come was sealed by the presence on the menu of the Kunstplatter, a massive dish with pork shank, sausage, ribs, potatoes, sauerkraut and speck dumplings. I had been looking for something called the Elephant's Platter described by Waverly Root in the Food of Italy as a Tyrolean specialty - this was the closest thing I would find... More

I have an allergy to onion, scallions, chives etc. I have asked something without any onion. They get me pasta with chives. Sorry I cannot have chives. So, there a nothing you can eat here (while my family was eating). And we do not care of Trip Advisor. I do care of Trip Advisor. And here you are. Avoid avoid... More

We went here Saturday evening arrived around 20h and seemed the "party" was just starting - the atmosphere was awesome. The beer great (and I don't drink much beer). Weiss saucisse and bretzel just what I wanted so can't complain.
