Tasty lunch

We had stayed at the hotel at the same address a few years ago, and on holiday this year we chose to eat at their restaurant this time. We only had a light lunch, but it was delicious, served on the balcony over the beautiful Lake Orta. My husband enjoyed his tagliatelle over which black truffle... read more

We did not stay at the hotel, but stopped for a light lunch with wine. Two of us chose the onion soup, which was fine, and the third person in our group, wanting to try an unfamiliar dish, politely asked if the dish took long to prepare. We were abruptly told that "This is not some drive-through cafe!" There was... More

Lunched there last week; had the set menu at EUR35 for four courses; very high-quality cooking, probably more appreciated by Italians than by tourists. I've read some critical reviews here, some of which may be justified but some of which appear to be written by people who, because this restaurant doesn't cater for English tourists who don't speak any Italian,... Best Tuna!! :) Good presentation and portions, the restaurant has a terrace to the lake and an open roof. Service is great.

We have stayed in this little hotel-restaurant 17 years ago. The same lady served us. In the meanwhile we have had lunches and dinners over the years, this is the restaurant we want to go. It is just by the lake, it is on the left corner of the main square of San Giulio, the outside sitting is peaceful. The... More

The wine list contains a ridiculously vast number of different wines to chose from and all being rather pricey. A 75 cl. bottle of Moretti beer was 15 euros. The main problem however was the attitude of the staff none of whom could speak even a few words of English. Sorry but can't recommend this restaurant.

Took ages to be seated even though restaurant was practically empty at lunch time. Wife ordered the 'meat ravioli', she was brought fish ravioli. We complained, they told us that 'ravioli' is the fish dish and showed us on the menu. I pointed at their English translation which clearly stated 'meat ravioli' as a separate item and the waiter walked... More

Service was poor, As Italian regular guest were deeply welcomed and their order was taken quickly, we had to ask three time to get ours taken! The waiter was rude, never a nice word, didn't ask if we wanted something to drink. he had a temper tantrum at some point as his helper was not doing the job... The food... More

Ate there tonight. the place is run by several octogenarians who simply do not engage with customers - there is a look and attitude of 'money has arrived', not customers. The down points: - they forgot our children's drinks and the water ordered. Got the kids drinks eventually but skipped the water - was still billed for it. - they... More

This place should be reported to higher authorities - the way the owners treated the staff was unbelievable and undiscerning. If you like a meal with yelling in the background, then this is a good place. We witnessed one of the owners yell at a staff that accidentally broke a glass. This was a yell of harassment and strength calling... More
