Unique and very friendly

Enchanting, unusual decor from the bread basket to the winking gnome. Great interesting food with very generous and friendly service albeit in a soft brusque fashion. We went back a 2nd time to make sure we weren't dreaming. A great experience.

This was not our best dinner in San Giulio. Somewhat funky dishes, which not all were too impressive. It was good food, fresh, (more than) generous portions, but just couldn't find anything much to my taste and when we tried anyway it didn't proof any different. Service wasn't at its best either, a bit grumpy this evening.

My Italian friend recommended this place and it was fantastic. It's on a narrow street rather than outside on a square - so it's full of locals rather than being a tourist trap. The service was friendly, the serves generous and my fish - deboned tableside - was awesome! Fresh from the lake. Very distinctive and individual quirky table decor.

We only decided to try this restaurant because of the reviews on Trip Advisor...if we had simply stumbled across it, we may have given it a miss thinking it was more about style over substance and probably too 'trendy' for us...that would have been our loss! While i admit i don't really understand the slightly bizarre decor with garden gnomes,... More

Quite a quirky restaurant with gnomes on the tables and bright colours everywhere. The food was great although my wife's fillet steak was enormous and she couldn't finish it. Perhaps they could scale back the size a little to avoid the waste. Otherwise a good restaurant for a meal and not too expensive.

We were really pleased to find this restaurant which offers a more varied choice of food than some of the restaurants in Orta San Giulio. The meat and fish dishes were of a very high standard and the portions plentiful. On both the occasions when we dined here, we were offered a free course, which, although not needed, we could... The taste of the fun decor may detour "macho" men, but they would be missing out on big taste. VERY unique. Typical Italian done well also meals with a twist. Try the Mozzerella with Sour Cream & Balsamico....WOW..... melts in your mouth. Never have the combination. All starters and pastas are great. Desserts are all homemade and GREAT. Only little... Ultra modern quirky restaurant. Great welcome with complimentary cocktails & starters. They immediately replaced my pate with a vegetarian option when I declined meat. Unusual objects on the tables & amazing loos. The food was great - as was the service. I wasn't surprised there was a queue waiting for tables when we left.
