Prepare for experimental ingredient mixing

Spicy donkey ragu, mushroom tagliatelle, and a large fillet steak (minus the mushrooms). It's an original and unexpected menu, but the food was fresh, tasty and the service was quietly excellent. The wine recommendation for a local Erbaluce was well balanced with our mushroom pasta.

The friendliest service in Italy and the waitress (guessing owner) with the biggest smile! We visited this little sleeper 3 times on a recent holiday through the lakes region of Italy and we would come back just for this little restaurant with the big heart. The menu varied each time we went and all was good. Favourite was the boiled... More

This was our final meal out in Italy and boy did we save the best till last. The service is so friendly, we felt right at home from the minute we walked through the door. Once seated we where given some complimentary aperitif's which was a nice touch. You can tell they love their craft here as they have a... More

When you come to a very touristy place, you expect the restaurants to be low quality at high prices, and you'd probably be right most of the time. Olina is the exception that proves the rule. Very friendly welcome, with an aperitif provided, then a delicious appetiser - and this was lunchtime! Our main courses were ex ellent, especially the... More

Very friendly people, great service, and they were even very patiant with our very tired 4 year old....but in terms of a proper meal in Orta San Guilio, you will be very hard pushed to beat this. Eaten there several times now, and they always have something interesting, and it is cheaper than a lot of the dreadful tourist traps... More

We were recommended Olina by the people we were staying with. It was one of the best meals of our week along trip around Italy. The decor is very stylish, but welcoming. The menu including interesting specials and delicious local versions of traditional dishes. The staff in the restaurant were just great! Friendly (this seemed to apply to families with... More

Olina is a great little restaurant with a seasonal and fresh menu. The menu is generally small but well formed, however this could mean that if you are a fussy eater you won't find something you like. The restaurant itself is well priced and is better value for money than the restaurants on the waterfront. If you visit Orta in... More
