Original, Excellent Value, coeliac friendly!

This restaurant is now easier to find, having moved slightly further from the centre of town, but onto a main thoroughfare. We liked the carne cruda (my daughter and wife), the terrine of white meat with apricots and almonds (1 grandson), Vitello Tonnato (son-in-law and other grandson) and the... read more

This restaurant is now easier to find, having moved slightly further from the centre of town, but onto a main thoroughfare. We liked the carne cruda (my daughter and wife), the terrine of white meat with apricots and almonds (1 grandson), Vitello Tonnato (son-in-law and other grandson) and the tomato tartlets (me) as starters. The raviolini stuffed with borage (yes,... More

Selected the restaurant based on reviews in Trip Advisor. The restaurant did not disappoint. When we arrived at the restaurant, we were met at the door by the head waiter. He said the air conditioning was out in the restaurant on one of the hottest days of the year. He said he would understand if we decided to eat elsewhere.... More

Behind an unassuming façade is one of the jewels of Piedmontese gastronomy. Following the recommendations of TripAdvisor reviews, a chef friend and I went to Campanaro to sample the menu degustazione ... eight warm and cold antipasti which, all together, constitute a whole meal. The antipasti were brought out little by little, and we savoured the flavours and textures of... More

Never been to Asti before and,as usual,I go to T.A for advice, haven't let me down before and this time was not different. I am a big fan of Italian food, who isn't? But as a chef,I feel often let down, food not fresh enough etc....this restaurant however, one can feel the passion and commitment of the owner and his son, both who serve in... More

Great choice for our last meal in Italy. Excellent wine which we could have by the glass and which was very generously served. I had the best Vitello Tonnarto ever and my partner had a good selection of hot antipasto followed by a delicious rabbit dish. The bread was fresh and interesting. The restaurant has a nice ambience and the... More

The best thing I can think of is that I had the best bottle of wine of my trip here and for me it is very important. This restaurant is very imprisive for a town this size but you can find similar in many towns and cities in Italy I was looking for something more homy and unique what I... More

The restaurant is a bit of a walk from the town's center and in a local neighborhood. We arrived for a late lunch but came with out reservation. The owner took our order, chatted a little and suggested a wine. We shared a pasta followed with Tripe and Cinghiale. All were great. The owner came back over to chat after... More

The welcome is warm, the restaurant attractively laid out and furnished, the service attentive (I am seriously lactose intolerant and they went the extra mile), but we felt for what we were charged the standard of cooking could have been a little higher. The bill came to 95 euros for an antipasto, a primo, a secondo and coffee for two... More

We were lucky to have dinner on a Friday evening as a group of 13 people, the majority of which spoke French. Diulio and his son were really friendly and spoke French which was really helpful. Lovely place. Great food (local cuisine, fresh products) including a selection of dishes with truffle and great value for money.

We had read a few reviews and figured that Campanaro couldn't hold up to the hype, but it did! The service was impeccable, and the food was delicious. We never saw a wine list, but they suggested amazing wines which we loved. We had the mixed plate of anti-pasta which was full of variety with fabulous flavors. We had a... More
