Wow, this is quite a place. Went last night with a friend that's a vegetarian, and while I started with the Vitello Tonnato (the best I have had in Italy in the past 2 weeks), he bagan with the Sformato di Aspargi - both were beautifully presented, obviously well constructed and even tastier than they looked, which is saying a... Extraordinary food, very nice host, excellent wines for a very reasonable price. A must in Asti if you like to eat good and high quality Piemonte food.

The white truffle season had just started when we visited and I had the meal of my life with an excellent spaghetti with white truffles accompanied with a young nebbiolo. Our host was really accommodating and provided an excellent taster of the entire antipasto selection. The onions baked in salt and stuffed mushrooms were delectable. We wanted to try the... More

A small but fantastic place! Not one dish I didn't want to try... I actually tried many... Everything was succulent. The gnocchi... A dream... The veal tartare... Amazing...the brasato al Barbera... Desserts...such as the bonnet... And... last but least, prices are more than decent considering the quality and quantities... An absolute must if one is nearby!

Simply amazing!!! When a dinner becomes an experiece to be remebered! The restaurant is quite small, with a nice atmosphere (reservation might be a good idea to avoid bad surprises). The owners are friendly and will tell you the secrets of they successful delicatessen! Try the "agnolotti"! They are specialized in Asti traditional cuisine. The prices are proportional to the... We stopped at this little gem of a restaurant in Asti on our way to La Morra in Barolo country. We had one of the best meals we've ever had at this unpretentious family-run ristorante. Far better than much posher places in Milan--better than anything in Milan. At the recommendation of the charming owner, Duilio, we had an appetizer plate... More

The owner is an exquisite host and really goes the extra mile to explain all the dishes which are available. Ditto for the wine. The food is an experience in itself. Great great great!! If you enjoy great homemade Italian (Piedmont) food, this is a must in Asti. It is an homage to slow food and to tradition which gets... More

We decided to stop off in Asti to break up a longish car journey & headed to Il Campanarò for lunch on the strength of previous reviews. We are so glad we did and would strongly urge anybody in the area to make time for a lunch or dinner here, whether staying or passing through. The owner is lovely &... More

Attention to details, informed service and great food. What more do you want? We had lunch recently and found this small place hidden on a back street of Asti. We will keep it on our list for the next time we are in Asti, you will too.
