Disappointing

Not recommended. My zuppa di pasta e fagioli tastes like it came from a tin. My braised chicken thighs in red peppers are actually roasted chicken legs with some peppers tossed over them. The chicken is cold and dry. Disappointing.

Rustic restaurant in a charming cellar. The food is really good, not outstanding or innovative, but really good. Amont other courses we had the risotto with mushrooms. Excellent. Extensive wine list. Good service.

We arrived in Asti for a one night stay after a 400 mile drive from Bourges. We had wandered around the streets and stopped in a couple of bars but we were hungry. We saw the tasting menu advertised outside the restaurant and wandered down the stairs into a wonderful brick vaulted room. It was cool and peaceful, our waitress... More

Old school (think 50s, 60s Italian classics) music is the backdrop in this subterranean, historical setting. Not sure what was here a hundred or more years ago when this was built, but it's beautiful now, with the original brick, iron gates that house various caches of wine bottles, and classy lighting that, from an aesthetic standpoint, really brings the whole... Gorgeous atmosphere with brick dome ceiling and walls. Modern white chairs juxtaposed with the very old structure gave it a clean comfortable look. Unfortunately we do not speak Italian, but the waitress did her best to steer us in what turned out to be a truly memorable dinner. The cheese plate to start was wonderful and she had me try... The restaurant is beautiful to look at, with brick arched ceilings and a very nice layout. The menu had some good choices and there was a nice wine list. Unfortunately, we were there on a day when they were trying to provide entertainment in the form a of a keyboard player / singer. For such a small restaurant the music... More

We went on a Sunday night, when many of the other restaurants were closed. When we arrived there were only 2 other guests, which should have been a warning.....food was pretty flavorless -the vegetables were soggy, the pork tough and the duck terribly salty....the first course of 3 meat ravioli, but the mushroom risotto was the worse I've ever had... Amongst our better meals in Italy. In an ancient vaulted cellar below street level, with lots of atmoshere but also stylish with modern twists. We intended to have just one course and ended up having three because the food was so clearly excellent. Recommended.

very nice and warm atmosphere, in the heart of the town excellence, cordial and friendly service portions are abundant and tatsy not too large variety but the right one: fish and meat option lovely wine, yet not expensive the one suggested by the manager will go back soon, for sure.

The steps down to the osteria lead you to the incredible discovery of the oldest place in Asti ! The vaults dating 1200 overhang the whole dining-room, giving it a very authentic and out-of-the-modern-world atmosphere ! The tappas-like simple dishes are excellent, the selection of only local cheeses outstanding, especially when you are enjoying them together with a excellent glass... More
