River or lake fish never tasted better and so does the salumi

Any place named for the old god may have ominous portends for what awaits inside, but we found this a darling osteria full of lovely local food. Rice is the star here and so is the salumi. Loved the river fish, while my femme chose the lake variety Nun plus ultra.

November offered a menu with all truffles (black truffles) while they lasted. The pasta was very good indeed, and the truffles were fresh, as they should be, otherwise they are worthless. Traditional torte for desserts. No trace of one of my favourite dishes on the menu: the goose leg confit. Maybe next time?

Very difficult to express any sort of analysis as for the type of restaurant it is very much down to subjectivity. This then means that it is not a bad place. However, for the stile I prefer, my personal judgement is not positive. First of all the place presents its self as an Osteria of a certain level and this... More

We were wandering around looking for dinner and found this by accident. They open for dinner at 8. We made a reservation and returned. Our group was five persons. We had a cheese plate (six cheeses and don't ask me what they were!) and a meat plate (4 or 5 different things) and some raw chopped beef (cruda) for starters.... More

Really creative menu and great quality of the food. Price was good too for that quality. Found it randomly, but I'll sure come back!

Walking through Pavia my wife and I noted this little restaurant down a narrow street. It looked great and turned out to be just as one might expect, good knowledgeable staff, great menu including many local specials (try the kidneys with saffron risotto), and well cooked. An extensive wine list supplements the great food. Sure, it is a little squeezy... More

We had two meals on the evenings of 10 and 11 October. Just a word of warning: the daily specials menu may be left up in the window but they do not do them in the evening - shame, as they look really interesting! The ambience and service are really good and relaxed; the menu has lots of interesting dishes... More

We ended at this Restaurant that the owners of our B&B recommended to us. They told us that this Osteria was one of the best in Pavia, and that it would be possible to dine until late (we were worrying because we arrived at Pavia after 20:00). Indeed, at the entrance of this Osteria it was written that they were... More

Superb, outstanding - for me this place ticks all the boxes, viz.: nice room with good atmosphere; friendly knowledgeable staff; fascinating menu with lots of local dishes; extensive wine list; local clientele; reasonable prices - tick all of these. Had the kidneys with the saffron risotto, apparently a Lombard speciality. The risotto in particular was perfection - creamy but with... More
