excellent food and charming service

I think going out for dinner at 8 p.m. in Mikan may be a bit early. The place was empty when we arrived and the staff seemed to just finishing their meal. Never mind, at least we had the choice of tables. The elderly gentlemen waiter and his helpers could not do enough for us. Guided us thru the... read more

I used to eat here in 2000. It was, and still is, a very good place to eat. It was just a simple, lovely restaurant at the time and has become more, how does one say, pretentious? The Chef, Nicolo, and I reminisced about old times and caught up about new times but I just couldn't help feeling that it... More

We have courses in a practice nearby on a regular basis (3-4 times a year) and we are organizing the lunch there. They are flexible and for a good price we always get a good choice of Italian food. So far all I tried was very good. At times, when it is really busy, service is a bit in trouble,... More

Wondering around, we found this lovely fish restaurant. Flexible about, menu we had a mix of wanted dishes to share.. Thanx to the staff. Whole menu explained in english. Food verry Nice. Especially the raw fish. Two bottles of Nice wines adjusted to our taste and menu, loads of food lovely staff., It was worth the 65 euro each.

Very interesting, speciality for sea fishs, pasta handmade and wine from all Italy and some from France. Ask for "Tartare di tonno e ricciola"

Staying in Navigli

Neighborhood Profile
Navigli
The Navigli is part of historic Milan. In the ancient days, the entire city was linked with canals, similar to Venice. Today, most of the canals are gone, but the Navigli remains a canal-based neighborhood. There are two major canals: Naviglio Pavese and Naviglio Grande. The Naviglio Grande's bridges greet visitors at dusk with an amazing view. The Navigli district specializes in clubs, cafes, and vintage shops. Lifestyle reigns supreme here. You can start the walk from the Colonne di San Lorenzo, an antique colonnade in front of the Basilica di San Lorenzo. During the daytime, this place acts as a meeting point for artists and students reading books or chatting with friends; the nights turn it into a stepping-stone for club hoppers. Science lovers will also relish the opportunity to visit the Science and Technology National Museum Leonardo Da Vinci, showcasing inventions of the Italian genius.
