A very special place to eat in the city. Excellent food from South Italy. I'm from Milan and I often go there with good friends... Spaces are a little small, but you have to experience it!
Good food, good service and nice clima. Bread very good. It is a little tight but ok for a osteria/cantina place. Sudenly arrive the musicians (2) playing italian classics and... better stop talking and enjoy! A coin is wellcome for the fast performance. Go with your family!
I can only hazard a guess as to why this restaurant isn't rated higher - perhaps it's because it's a little off the usual tourist track, maybe it doesn't look trendy enough or maybe the locals are keeping it quiet so that it doesn't get overrun with outsiders. Whatever the reason, it certainly isn't anything to do with the food...... More
The atmosphere of a family run business in the center of Milan, great food, great atmosphere, good wines, great value for money. I can hardly wait to return.
Giannino is a high value restaurant. It's possible to eat typical dishes of Abruzzo. For lunch it's possible to eat daily dishes, very cheap and well cooked. I advice to try "paccheri alla giannino" and oven pasta.
I was recommended by my Italian friend. He is from Milan and this was his top choice. Its a bit difficult to find, but worth the trip from the main touristy areas. I loved the food so much that I went back the next day for a second time during my short 3 day trip to Milan. I asked the... More
Ensure to make a table reservation. The restaurant does not look fancy at all from the outside. But has a fantastic athmosphere and very friendly staff. Staff is not fluent in English, but it is not a problem. The food is fantastic. Make sure to try the starters they recommend. Had home made pasta with cheese sauce and air dried... More
Lunch here was decent but hardly memorable. We ordered a ravioli with ricotta cheese, mixed meat abbruzzo style and fried cheese to share. None of the aforementioned dishes impressed, and the mixed meat turned out to be grilled meats with no sauce. I guess Abbruzzians never heard of adding sauces to their steak? All in all, decent value, but nothing... More
My husband and young daughter ate here last weekend and really enjoyed the food, atmosphere and service. The food felt a little more genuine than we experienced the rest of the weekend break and they were super friendly with our daughter. For starters we had some fried vegetables and homemade mozzarella, both which were fantastic. For mains I had the... More
We were daft enough to walk here from the centre of Milan, getting useless directions from two local polis on the way. It was later than expected when we got there, with no reservation, on Valentine's night... and though it was deserted at about 7.30, the staff looked worried and said, no tables. Our sad faces must have changed their... More
