Fresh Fish Restuarant

This restaurant is renowned for fish. We were a large group for business lunch. We had an excellent service (the number of staff working there were above average from my experience) and we ate a mix of large variety of shell fish and fish as anti-pasti, followed by pasta dishes. Ambiance is nothing... read more

I didn't have access to a phone so I emailed for a reservation. I didn't get a response until two days later. At that time I was traveling and couldn't see my emails. By the time I was able to see my email the restaurant decided on their own that they would cancel my reservation. When we called to ask... More

This restaurant was so good that I went there twice over 3 days. The wait staff and maitre d's were excellent. First late lunch I enjoyed lightly fried shrimp and baby calamari. Totally excellent. I also had a half order of the specialty pasta of the day which was a light red sauce with fresh fish and capers. Really good.... More

We emailed for a reservation on a Saturday and didn't receive a reply until Monday morning while traveling from Santa Margherita to Milan. No service during the trip, until we get wifi. We ask for reservation at 8pm. At 7:30 owner calls our hotel and since we weren't there he cancels our reservation. I call him at 7:45pm while shopping... More

Dislike ? NOTHING ! Excellent service, advice, quality of food, wine list...basically everything. Maybe the only thing I could 'complain' about is the quantity/price ratio of the raw entrée (22 euros for a little slice of Tuna, one of Ricciola, 3 scampi and 3 gamberi is abit much) but otherwise - excluding wine - a 4 course meal (entrée, first... The staff in this restaurant is well prepared and knows fish very well! I was taken here on a business lunch and I must say, I was fairly impressed. The place was fully booked so they seated us by the fish bar and I had one of the best lunches ever. A mix of octopus and nero di seppia dipping... More

We were two lovely couples celebrating our beautiful friendship. This restaurant is indeed good. It has its own style, old and nobel but without luxury elements. Our purpose was to eat fish. As you know starter is extremely important in restaurants, because it is an introduction. The starter in Al Porto was great: slightly marinated swordfish was marvelous, wirth nice... More

This is one excellent restaurant....My husband and I came here in 2012 while visiting Europe; after wandering around looking for dinner, we were advised by two locals it was the best seafood in Italy. They were right. The food was so delicious, well prepared, and beyond our expectations. This is not your typical tourist restaurant...no one spoke English. I had... More

Just been in this famous restaurant and thought to find better quality of food. Great service and nice location, anyway I had better expectation of food quality. Raw fish was not rich in selection, fresh but not superb...I strongly recommend to upgrade menù and food variety.

After a two years break we finally found this restaurant again and nothing changed. The owner, the chef, the service and the food were just perfect. For us the best restaurant in town and we tried many of them already.

Staying in Navigli

Neighborhood Profile
Navigli
The Navigli is part of historic Milan. In the ancient days, the entire city was linked with canals, similar to Venice. Today, most of the canals are gone, but the Navigli remains a canal-based neighborhood. There are two major canals: Naviglio Pavese and Naviglio Grande. The Naviglio Grande's bridges greet visitors at dusk with an amazing view. The Navigli district specializes in clubs, cafes, and vintage shops. Lifestyle reigns supreme here. You can start the walk from the Colonne di San Lorenzo, an antique colonnade in front of the Basilica di San Lorenzo. During the daytime, this place acts as a meeting point for artists and students reading books or chatting with friends; the nights turn it into a stepping-stone for club hoppers. Science lovers will also relish the opportunity to visit the Science and Technology National Museum Leonardo Da Vinci, showcasing inventions of the Italian genius.
