Food good

We ate here on two occasions for pranzo. On both occasions the food was good - Osso buck was very good with a lovely sauce that was not to rich (as a lot are) just enough to accent the meal without overtaking it. Great weather augmented the extremely charming patio overlooking garden. Great feeling from moment we arrived and then got perfect table. Recommended by concierge at Park Hyatt in response to my request for an informal local restaurant who provided two suggestions. We accepted both and they could not have been more different (the other was VERY disappointing. We dawdled over drinks... More

Business dinner with customers. Location is good: it is a short walk from Piazza della Scala. Food is of good quality but nothing really special. ... and that is about it! The atmosphere is that of a very common restaurant with big tables to accommodate as many people as possible. It is not an intimate restaurant. The problem is the... More

We have had a great dinner experience here. Everything and everyone was as "it should be" (and I am saying that as a former Hotelier). Mr. Marazzato and his team made us feel very comfortable. Although it was our first visit, we were treated like repeat clients. The atmosphere is great and the quality of food, beverages and service excellent.... More

I had dinner at Don Lisander in Milan just a few blocks from La Scala on the recommendation of my hotel, the Park Hyatt Milan. Since is now summer, we sat outside which was lovely. The staff could not be more attentive. The food was good (we opted for traditional Osso Buco and Veal Milanese but everything else looked fantastic).... More

Excited beyond measure to find a place decorated in the true Italian way, we were expecting a wonderful time. Instead we were treated to sarcasm and african innuendos in the service and wine advice. Herewith my summing up of the nonsense told me by the Somnelier that a Nebiolo wine is better than a Barbera anytime. (That may have been... More

We had a wonderful meal at Don Lisander and were perfectly taken care of the wonderful head-waiter Stefano. We sat outside, yet under an open roof, perfect food, perfect wines (we had a bottle of Amarone) and really enjoyed a wonderful evening. And yes, hey, it's a little bit pricy, but you'll get value for money, folks. Hi Stefano, I... More

As a prelude to a visit to La Scala, we thought this would be a wonderful meal and the astronomic prices certainly gave us this impression. In reality, the food was dreadfully over-priced and not particularly good. Nor was there very much of it. The bill came to Euros 175.00!! Frankly, we would not have rated this meal to be... More

Don Lisander got good reviews on Trip Advisor and was recommended by our travel agent and concierge. It was just ok but nothing wonderful and I thought it was overpriced for what we had. Given the great reviews that was disappointing. The best thing about it was that it was open on Sunday.
