Quiet lunch near the Duomo

Eating around the duomo always means chaos and tourist food. Agnello's is a cozy, quiet restaurant that serves good, honest to goodness Italian fare. :)

Just off the main drag and away from the tourists, excellent choice of food and portions are large. A pleasant atmosphere and very good service.

After walking around Milan for several hours we were looking for a place that was nearby the center, yet a little more peaceful. Agnello was on a side street and fit the bill. We went early, about 6:00 (scandalous for Italy) and were the only ones there that time. Dinner was really good. I had the veal steaks and my... More

Friendly attentive staff, nice food and wine. Can't ask for more. While located close to the Duomo, I would not have called it a "tourist trap". I would eat there again.

The food here was good, and makes it worth a visit. What made it special, however, were the extra touches. We were served a small plate of vegetables and dips to start, a bread basket to accompany our meal, and complimentary lemon sorbet and fruits to end. Wine came in glass tubes, which we were offered as souvenirs. The decor... More

Well what a surprise in stumbling across this restaurant. The food was beautiful, especially the prawn taglioni. They served lemon sorbet in shot glasses after our main meal which was a nice touch. The service was attentive and would thoroughly recommend this restaurant.

Didn't start so wel but ended up being the best meal we ate in Milan. The food was excellent. My wife had duck and I had lamb. Waitress was very friendly when she warmed up. Was very cold and off to begin with. When I had difficulty finding a suitable wine she become very helpful, brought 5 different bottles out... More

This was recommended to me by a local Milanese guy who I work with. It was seriously average leaning towards poor and expensive at €140 for two which include a €30 bottle of wine and a two course dinner. And the decor.............what were they thinking !! It wasn't bad .............. it just wasn't good. I was quite disappointed to be... More

Neighborhood Profile
Centro Storico
The pulsating core of Milan is in Centro. Duomo Square is enclosed by the gothic cathedral, the historic icon of Milan. However, shopping is what draws most crowds to this area. The classy and versatile Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II with luxury boutiques and high quality restaurants will turn any shopping or lunch expedition into a royal experience. Head to the rooftop of the flagship La Rinascente to enjoy the view of the animated square with a panorama of the Duomo. The Corso Vittorio Emanuele II is the street for high-end shopping. Brands of all kinds and street artists attract the attention of all visitors; while at Via Santa Radegonda 16, Luini Panzerotti is a much appreciated street food shop providing unimaginable culinary experiences. If shopping takes its toll on you, consider visiting Castello Sforzesco, a 15th century castle housing several museums. Those looking to relax can go to Parco Sempione, where nature provides respite from the energy of this dynamic and international city.
